I've just seen a for sale ad here:

http://www.4x4web.co.uk/4sale.html (about one third way down)

(sorry if the link doesn't work, but I donlt know html)

and was wondering what the truck could be. I've done a bit of research and couldn't come up with anything on triple axle GMC/Chevy's apart from HD/military applications. I think I've seen it around one (it's in the UK), the axles are like this -00--0- (if you get what I mean). Anybody have any more info? I've emailed the seller and asked him to send me a pic.

Cheers

Mark

Yup, that's the one....I've just noticed that it has the 5.7l diesel in it...not the best of engines i've heard...

Still, I'll try to get hold of a pic of it if I can.

Cheers

Mark

Ugh! I'm amazed that there is a 5.7 liter GM diesel that's still running! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Those things were ticking time bombs, just waiting for the right moment to rip the entire crankshaft support webbing out of the block. GM managed to alienate the entire US market for diesels with that engine. There are still a LOT of non-motorhead people in the US that think all diesels are junk, based on the horror stories that those engines produced. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Good luck! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I've got a cousin that made a lot of money buying really nice Oldsmobiles with blown up diesels. He'd get 'em for next to nothing, drop a junkyard 350 gas engine into 'em and flip 'em quick for a good markup. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Clicking on the photos link and clicking on the "triple Axle Jimmy" album.

KIA: did you get my email? I've seen a 1978 Blazer down here in Bournemouth for £2300...350 V8, auto, 44" tryes and 9" lift.

Re: triple axle Jimmy (now with pics!!)

Still not working for me... I think it's coz it's a yahoo group and you have to be a member to view stuff from that group.

Yeah I did get your email, cheers, I have seen that Blazer it's a yellow one, but the guy was a bit of an a$$ and it's a bit too high for me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif He's been trying to sell it for ages now, no one want's it, it's made for real offroading but it's rusty too.

(did you get my email? - do you use a chat app on your computer like MSN etc...?)

Kia.

Re: triple axle Jimmy (now with pics!!)

I hate putting downer on thing but to me, it looks like a good Photoshop fake.

(sorry)

Re: triple axle Jimmy (now with pics!!)

I stand corrected /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

DOH!!!!

Re: triple axle Jimmy (now with pics!!)

I can guarantee to you that it's not a fake! I have actually seen this truck driving past my house once in Poole...

I'm guessing that its a 'home-made' modification...I'll emal the guy and ask where/how it got done.

Like I said though, it's definitely not a fake

Re: triple axle Jimmy (now with pics!!)

To be honest a Suburban would be better than a long Blazer, but I really want a normal Blazer, cheers though.

I found one in London for a good price £3300, here's a pic....
