I started a thread in the garage and it was suggested I may get more input here. Here is the link.

I basically let the truck sit for a month while I had the alternators rebuilt. I charged up the batteries and put the alternators back on and now it won't start.

It's cranking plenty fast and strong, but it just won't fire off. I pulled the fuel filter off the firewall and there was a lot of pressure on it (don't know if this makes a difference or not). It was full of fuel. I let it sit over night and still nothing this morning.

Any ideas??

i havent worked on a 6.2L in awhile, but when they were cranking and not starting usually it turned out to be air in the fuel lines. Crack the injector lines and crank the motor over. Fuel should come out. I believe there is a bleeder on top of the Fuel Filter housing as well crack that open and crank the motor until fuel comes out. If not could be the injection pump isnt pumping fuel which would mean the Injection Pump went out. Also from what i remember there are little rubber hoses from injector to injector. Those hoses like to go bad and introduce air into the fuel system as well. Like i said its been years since i have worked on these, but one thing i know for sure is when there is Air in the Fuel lines it will not start, and it takes a while to bleed out the system. Good luck and hope this helps a bit.

Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at this tonight and try to see if the system is bled.

Remove the pink wire from the IP, undo the fuel line from the filter heading to the IP and set up a small container under the end of it. Crank 15-20 seconds at a time until you see fuel coming out and into your container. Re-install the line.

Remove the glow plugs, crack the injector lines so they're all loose. Hook up the pink wire and have a helper crank the engine for 15-20 seconds at a time (30 second to one minute rest for the starter) until you see fuel dripping from the injector lines. As each one drips tighten it up until you have at least 6 dripping and re-tightened. When they're all snugged up again, re-install the GP's and it should fire.

I updated the thread in the garage. The fuel system must have purged itself because she fired up yesterday. Thanks for all the help. I printed off the info on bleeding the system for future reference when I change the fuel filter. Thanks again everyone.
