i thought i had this problem fixed, but i guess not.

a few weeks a go, blazer was running great, when one day i filled up with gas and two blocks down the road she died as i was turning onto a access ramp. took forever to get her started but i finally limped her home. neighbor figured out the float was stuck so we took her apart, cleaned her and she ran fine again until i hit higher rpms.

next day i installed a new fuel and air filter and new plugs(what the hell right?)

she started blowing soot out the tailpipe so i checked inot it, and figured out my neighbor adjusted the fron float wrong and the fuel was way up top in the bowl. readjusted the float and she ran great again for 2 dyas and last night she died again on me, limped her home.

is my float just continually getting stuck on me?

what else should i look for. i want to try everything i can berfore i send it to holly

thanks boys

tom

th needle and seat were turned too much in not allowing for adjustment, but i fixed that.

question: the needle and seat have a a spring separating them if im correct. should those parts come apart or should they stay together?

i bought a holly kit for gaskets and such and it had 2 new needles/ seats that did not separate.

No they should not come apart. If they are, that may be what is causing the problem. The spring kind of absorbs the pressure from the rising float, but the two pieces should not separate.

YUP If the little spring and brass peg are falling off the needle that is probably your problem. you can get a new spring loaded needle and seat for around $10.

Truck avengers come with spring loaded needles which do come apart - 2 pieces.

I still say we need some kind of small indicator in the title area or somewhere to indicate when the last post of a thread is over a certain age........

This one is 5 years gone by.

But the OP is still here, so we may get an answer.

I'm guessing since he didn't post anymore after that be got it fixed. It's funny how many of these old posts come back after so long.

I saw how old it was, but I also saw he was still an active member. I think he has moved on to a tbi or efi, but I just got one of these truck avengers. I could use the expertise. Lol. Thanks guys.
