I have a 1987 chevrolet V-10 4x4 with dual shocks in the front. One is a Nitrogen and the other Hydrogen. Could this be why the truck rides real rough? Ive been thinking about removing one from the front the rear has Nitrogen.

Dual shock setups usually use a lighter shock damping in each shock so they can share the work without being too stiff. If these were stiff enough to work alone, they will make it ride hard together. Try pulling off one set and see how it rides.

Check to see how badly your bumpstops on the front axle are getting worked. I bet that's what you are feeling.

They dont use hydrogen in shocks it is explosive. If they say hydro it means they are hydraulic with no gas. You shouldn't mix types of shocks in a dual set up. They may work against each other and the dampening rates are all mixed up.
If you want to keep the dual set up. Get a matched set of shocks specified for the dual shock application. Gabrial makes good riding shocks for reasonable price.
