truck update;different diy4x bumper too

Looks good! I run 6" Alcans, love em...tell me about that transfer case bracket, how much vibration does it transfer to the frame? Is it solid mounted?

no limiting straps but I need to start making some kind of bumpstop, the alcans are just too soft. I didnt have any issues when flexed all the way out, my front driveshaft has 10 inch plus of slip. my buddy at http://copperheadfab.com/ cut them out for me, he just came up with that design and asked me if I liked them so I took them. He will cut them any size you want to btw.
He has some cool stuff

Thanks

Yep, it was a long wait! Sorry bout that bud.

Thanks to Drey for letting me use his blazer for set up purposes! Our regular setup vehicle was no longer available for this one.

No problem at all Kert happy to help out, just sorry the Blazer doesnt move under its own power...like so many other of my vehicles:doah:

Gus71 you got anymore closeups of the bumper, It looks sweet? Very nice K5 too man!

no problem man. The transferase bracket/crossmember does bolt directly to the frame(2 bolts on each frame rail) but if you look at the picture you can see a 3rd bolt(its painted over) but that bolts that little arm peice bolted to the t-case on to the actual crossemember and it bolts through a summit machine bushing. So theres a little room for movement and vibration but it does transfer some vibes into the truck. At idle I can feel a little bit more vibration on top of the exhaust but it isnt bad at all(I just have bedliner inside too).On the highway I sometimes feels vbration when the axle wraps but it isnt bad either so I am pretty content on how it came out. I might later put some bushings on the 4 bolts on the frame but we will see. Ill take some closeups of the bumper and a few of the crossmember and post them up in a bit. thanks for the compliments, Joe.

sorry about the mud, I actually managed to get the blazer in the garage today. It sits about an inch high in the back so I can pull it off if the top is off but if its on it wont fit lol. Dont worry either I dont pull with the blazer either, I had to drag that RTI ramp a couple blocks down yesterday.

Did you custom make that t-case brace or can I buy it somewhere?

my buddy at copperheadfab.com took my idea and twisted around and what not and came up with that. I know he would make another one no problem if he could, but if he was able too I think he would have to sell it in peices(weld it yourself) because my transfercase has a one inch drop on it. Different trannies would mess with it to because its right at a curve almost on my frame. You would have to talk to him and see how he feels about it though.

Ah, I see. I don't really have a way to weld myself, so I don't think it'll work out. My truck being a K10, has a less curve in the frame plus I have a 208 and 465 so it would definately be located differently on the frame. I just want a way to brace my t-case since like many people, my truck didn't come with a brace.

That rear bumper looks vaguely familiar.......

Looks great! Kert does great work.

lol sorry but when I saw your pics I had to have it.

:D Ah, Kert designed it. I just had him make one to match the front which was modeled after Storm Trooper's.

At least now I know how it will look when its all together. I just got a spare tire delivered Friday. Looked a little weird before. :o
