Having a rust free truck shipped across country is way cheaper than trying to rebuild an original rust belt truck, especially if street use is a priority. Even if it's going to be a wheeler or cut and modified, starting with a solid body truck makes things a whole lot easier. I got mine from TX but it was already in New England saving me the shipping.
That particular 74 looks a bit too rusty for the total price after shipping. That truck has been painted and stuff is bubbling up from under the paint. This leads me to believe something is hiding under the paint. I would be looking for pics of the cargo area with the mat pulled up to the wheel wells at least, pics of the floor in front of the rear wheels, pics of the body mounts. Doors for that truck are hard to find too, at least here in the rust belt. Can the 1/2 cab doors be modded to fit the full vert? I would want pics of the bottoms of the doors, maybe they can be repaired. If you're really set on the full vert I suppose $2k is decent if it doesn't need too much work. Myself, I would be looking for a newer 1/2 cab with less questionable spots for that price. But that's me.
