Figure I should start a build over here as it is now 6.0L time. I picked up this 87 in 1994 the year I graduated high school. It was my pride and joy for years. Almost sold it a couple of times but could never bring myself to do it

Anyway fast forward through three kids, small business, wife and life and the truck started to look a little sorry. Wife said fix it or get rid of it.

I chose to fix it.

I decided long ago that this truck was something I wanted my kids to remember and with them being young still (3,6,9) it was time. I had a game plan and didn't want to really cut any corners so.....

Dana 60 front and 14bff out of cucv
Disc conv on rear
Inboard shocks in rear, ford towers up front
PSC hydro assist, pump, box, resi, ram
New interior (M3 front seats, escalade bench)
Autometer for everything
38 km2's
Abomb
Shackle flip
Much much $ to kurt over at DIY4X
Gauntlet rear bumper
Warn power plant winch
High steer and crossover
Softopper
Full cage (diy4x)
LQ9, 4L65e, NP242c with SYE
HAD driveshafts and TC brake
Dual AGM batteries with Hellroaring isolator / combiner
Griffin combo LS radiator
DIY4X sliders
43 gallons of POR15

Thanks guys. Will try and get more pics up tonight. Got a good score on Craigslist yesterday. Milwaukee Titan work cart. Perfect for the garage work. These things were like $800 new.

so here is some backstory on the truck. This is it from about 8 years ago.

rebuilding the axles after I had picked them up from the CL ad

disc conv

tearing out the carpet and other nastiness in the cab

covered the floor with furnace king insulation

axles prepped to go under

LMC vinyl flooring

unloading the engine

the power plant winch took a little work to get it to fit. The motor wouldn't fit so I had to move the fairlead hole over about three inches.

got the M3 seats and tuffy console installed.

and picked up a third row out of an Escalade ESV. This is a perfect fit with some modifications to the bracket. Three shoulder belts integrated into the seat with black leather. Craigslist score.

swap time

plumbed a hardline out onto the A-Bomb for the compressor.

had diamond side panels cut for the interior

POR15 everywhere.

core support needed some trimming

shackles and shackle flip

locking security for the back. Weather guard box off craigslist. PERFECT fit.

long, hot day of easy inches, new front shackles and hangar etc

softtopper arrived. I searched craigslist for this but couldn't find anything

I wanted to run dual batteries so I used a stock tray that I cut up to give me a drivers side battery tray

First time out in about 8 months and I get it stuck in soft mud with two wheel drive.

Installing Kurt's High Steer Ram Assist mount.

Hellroaring isolator / combiner installed

fabbed up a bracket to hold the Escalade bench seat in

Building a gauge cluster that I never got to use

SYE install on Junkyard 241c

PSC resi, pump, and cooler install

cage install

The cage is from DIY4X. I convinced Kurt to bend me up some rear tubes to go from the halo / B Pillar back to the floor. I added in the other structural stuff but didn't need a bender as Kurt had done all the hard work for me. Just need a notcher.

Highly recommended. I will be finishing up a video that highlights my install shortly
