Tube Bender Dilemma

I've just used up a couple hours of my life searching through threads on here and pirate about tube bender choices.

I'd like a vertical bender like a Pro Bender . With it being on wheels, it'll be easy to move around the shop and store when not in use and I won't have to drill holes in the concrete of my garage floor. Not too big of an issue, it's just when I have to move in 3 years, I'll have holes in my garage floor when trying to sell the house. And, with it being portable, it should be easy to move with me and set up at my next location. The down side is that it's about twice as much as a comparable JD2 or Pro Tools model.

I'm probably going to go with a 105HD. I can piece it together for about $200 less than I can find a JD2 model 32. I'll probably end up welding up a stand for it and I figure that eventually, I'll switch over to hydraulic and I can put wheels on it and make it portable if need be.

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

They are cheaper, the biggest disadvantage is the fact that they cannot bend 180, which can very easily be overcome.

The other big disadvantage is the large radius of the bends 7" my 1.75 die is a 5.5" radius.

But the quality of the bend is good, its easy to use, easily transportable, and inexpensive.

I looked at those Pro Benders before. I like the hydro models too. Then I thought I wouldn't really use it for much and I would likely ruin more pipe than I could afford :haha:
You could easily throw some Quickrete in the holes of your garage floor when the time comes

I pretty much discounted it because I was limited to 7" radius.

Why not save the $200 and get the 105HD like you want. Then spend the saved $200 on a swag mount and HF ram. It's been what I've been doing my cage with and it sure beats cranking on the bar.

This way you still get the bender, air/hydraulic and you won't need to put any holes in your floor all for the same price as the 32.

I tell ya, the mount and ram work really well. :waytogo:

Same deal here, I use the HF jack, and actually like it better for some aspects than a bender I used for a while with the hydro conversion that costs like a grand.
