I have been wanting to do this for a while, after seeing all the pictures lately i really want to make some tube bumpers. I dont have a tube bender though, i know it would be a lot of extra work but i was thinking of manually bending them.. say heat them up a ton and bend them with a jig system in a work bench. Do you guys think it would work out alright? money is a big issue so a tube bender is completely out of the question. Also whats the perfered tube dia and thickness?

it would be MUCH easier to have a local shop make a couple of bends to your specs and then weld it together yourself...

bending tube without a bender aint gonna work out right, thats why they invented benders. ;) Besides, steel tube is not cheap at all right now, dont waste it!
