Tubing Bender - updated

I'm using this one http://www.tubetek.net/ Cost a little bit more and it's manual (Should be easy to make Hyd) I bent my cage with it and no problems. There was some talk on Pirate about how slow he was getting them out. I had mine in less than two weeks.

I looked at this one. I don't have a way to mount it too easily. I was thinking of the receiver hitch idea but decided to get this one:
http://toolsplus1.com/eztube.htm

It comes with 4 sizes of dies and an air over hydraulic ram.

Right now I am regretting the purchase. Their customer service SUCKS!!!!!!! They supposedly shipped it 6 business days ago for a four business day delivery. I received a receipt for the bender last Friday, but no bender. They are refusing to provide me with any tracking information.:mad::mad:

Well they finally gave me the tracking information today. It shipped yesterday.

that sucks, bitch an complain for them lieing, threaten to cancel the CC payment, be a dick to them they were to you

I got the bender on the 3rd. I began bending the tubing for my bumper. Quick review. This bender works great. The thing is a tank. There's absolutely no flex or movement while bending 1.75 x 0.120 HREW.

The thing came with 4 dies and a follower bar. Air over hydraulic system is SWEEEET. It is very easy to use. It also came with a short VHS tape that was much easier than reading an instruction manual. This is a dynamite tool. It is bitter sweet considering the customer service.

Well here's the history of this purchase. Read for yourself and decide if you would do business with them.

Dear tools4shop,
Thanks. Do you have the tracking number?

Response 12/18/2007:
To track an order you need to call our shipping department.
Tools Plus phone 937.339.6829 mon-fri 11am-6pm east coast time.

12/18/2007:
I contacted tools4shop by telephone. The rep was courteous. He told me the shipping location was closed. He took my email address and said he would get back with me first thing the next day.

I sent the following email at the end of the following business day (12/19/2007):

I called the number provided. I was told it was shipped out of the Iowa location and they were closed to get the tracking number. I was advised that I would get an email today to get the tracking number.

I don't feel I should have to call long distance, return emails and work this hard to get information your company has.

You have my $1000.00. I would expect better customer service for a $1000 purchase. Please provide me the information in the manner that you would expect from someone you made a purchase with. Please provide me with the tracking number so I don't need to keep spending my personal time on this.

Response 12/19/2007
Sir,
as much as we would like to treat each and every customer as if they were the only customer, it is not possible to do this.
You state that you shouldnt have to spend your personal time doing all of this "follow up"....just so you know, you DONT have to keep doing this. You placed your order on Monday then called Tuesday wanting to know where it is.....if you wanted it to get from ohio or iowa the next day, then you should have paid for next day shipping.
if the item is not there 30 days from the date you purchased it THEN is when we have a problem.
your irtem was shipped.
thanks,

I was very infuriated at the attitude of this company. I fired off this email:
Let's get something straight:

1. When you promise a customer a response, provide the response. I was advised that the tracking number would be emailed. It wasn't!!

2. Common business practice is: Notify the customer of the shipping information, which you did not. EVERY eBay purchase has supplied the tracking information, except for you.

3. I was not expecting my order the next day. "then called Tuesday wanting to know where it is." Please provide quality service rather than defending yourself for poor customer service.

For every 1 customer that complains, there are 10 more that say nothing about it.

I will be posting this information on the feedback section of eBay. I will not slander nor exaggerate. I will not be spending another dime on any product you represent. I don't care how good your product may be, your attitude towards me, as a customer, is disturbing and unacceptable.

12/19/2007: Feedback left by seller on my eBay account
neg.jpgpaid fast but he complained about tracking info Some customers just cant wait

Response sent to me 12/20/2007:
You must be having a bad day. We will leave it at that and hope you are doing better tomorrow. We also we leave proper feedback. Again to track an item you need to call our shipping department.
Tools Plus phone 937.339.6829 mon-fri 11am-6pm

12/20/2007:
I AGAIN called to get the tracking number. The person that handles the information had a death in the family. I was told once again that they would get back with me.

12/21/2007:
UPS - Four day shipping to my location. Day 5 – I receive a box with the receipt. No tubing bender, just a box with the receipt and a couple of video disks. “It was shipped on Monday” must be inaccurate.

12/22/2007:
No delivery, no product, no email.

12/26/2007:
I called and again inquired about the shipping. Things got a bit nasty. The rep said that the guy that makes the unit had a death in his family and began to lecture me about being considerate. This is the 3rd different story that has been told. Interestingly the thing finally was shipped – TODAY.

12/26/2007 3:43 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

01/03/2008: The bender FINALLY arrives.

Dispute that feed back, burn the guy.

leaving you a negative because you would like some customer service, I would be so pissed at that. cancel the payment.

i'd cancel cc payment, wait until ebay dispute gets rid of neg feedback, then maybe pay em....did you have to sign for it, or was it just left at door :-)

Contact the Better Business Bureau and beef them. The BBB investigates complaints and a bad report from them can impact the vendor's ability to borrow money. I have a friend whose done this on several occasions and has had great success. I've also gotten great response from VISA - when they reverse payment it gets the vendor's attention quickly.

HOLY S#%T thats awfull - some of the worst customer service I've ever heard of!!!! At least you got a good bender out of the deal.

The customer service sucked. In reading other's ebay feedback, people that had problems stated pretty much the same, their customer service sucked. Pretty much everyone but but one person eventually received the stuff they ordered. The F You type of attitude drives me crazy.

I like the bender. It only bends 90 degrees, but it comes with 4 dies, from 1" to 1 3/4", air over hydraulic. I built a winch bumper that turned out pretty good (in my opinion) for a first attempt. I learned someting about my welding skills. It looks like Helen Keller did some of the welding. Thank god for grinding wheels.

If you want to risk dealing with these asshats, the bender is worth it, (so far).
But you have been warned.:doah:

It looks like Helen Keller did some of the welding. Thank god for grinding wheels.

:haha:

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Some -- as of late, with practice, many! -- of mine actually come out looking good ... but sometimes I just can't get the angle right or whatever and ... oy. Grind off the evidence!

The structural testing I've done (sledgehammer and/or prybar) says the welds are sound, but definitely ugly. And I'm sure a prettier weld has better penetration, etc :deal:
