So I had the day off. I downloaded TunerPro RT V5. I'm now happy that TunerPro RT V5 does math. It's now easy to compare timing tables.

I have Win 7.

Anyone else using the new TunerPro RT V5?

I thought it was limited in what ECMs it could read, use? Or does compatable with all of the v4 stuff?

Hey dave w if I install the new version will it change anything in the XDF im using? I fear change...

I fear the actual .xdf file. I've seen $42 .xdf differences between moates.net and tunerpro.net. I just downloaded the V5 and only looked at a few .xdf / .bin. I didn't look much at the .xdf / .bin, I was mostly looking at the new features of V5.

I went to TunerPro website. I see what you mean about what ECM's are for V5. The way I see it, V5 is working for me on the ECM / PCM I use, $8D, $OD, $E6, and $E31. What I noticed is the data logging files (.ads) for some ECM / PCM are now .adx for V5. I have not used TunerPro RT to data log with, I use DataMaster TTS. I can see that only some ECM / PCM have the data logging option of the new .adx V5 for data logging. I can't see any changes in editing a .bin file with V5. For me V5 still works the same a V4, but has a different layout / look and some new features I like.

So if you are just modifing bins, burning chips or reading chips the V5 works on all files the same as V4. But if you are trying to data log the file format has changed?

If that is the case then I'll DL that as well. :woot:

Yes, V4 & V5 work the same for modifying bins, burning chips, and reading chips. I'm thinking there are some new features in TunerPro RT V5 for chip emulation? I have not hooked up my Ostrich2 (chip emulator) with TunerPro RT V5.

But if you are trying to data log the file format has changed?

The best example I see for the changes with the V5 data log format is with $OD (94-95 C/K 4.3L, 5.7L & 7.4L). For $OD the TunerPro website has 0D_tpv4_v200.xdf for V4 and uses 0D.ads for V4 data logging. For $OD the TunerPro website has 0D_tpv5_v225.xdf for V5 and uses 0D.adx for V5 data logging.

For $42 (1987-1991 C/K 4.3L, 5.7L & 7.4L) nothing has changed, so V4 or V5 will still use the 42.ads for data logging.

I moved from V4 to V5 a while ago and there are a couple of very minor issues to get everything working (I can not remember specifically). V5 works fine for me to data-log, read chips, burn chips, & modify bins. Plus you can set-up your own dash-board for monitoring.

I haven't had time touse V5 much but it seems as though it works with V4 stuff but the V5 definitions are more detailed...:waytogo:

I just downloaded it to see it. Is there a better definition file for 7747 besides the 42 from the tunerpro website?

I haven't seen an new V5 $42 yet. But there are some more over on Moates download site.
