I am about to put my used banks system on the 6.2 Suburban and I have a couple of small parts to get. One is the heat shield for the down pipe. The factory Banks system used a heat blanket which is long gone. Does anyone have advice for one to use on here? I don't want to wrap the pipe, I would rather use a shield/blanket.

Levi Lish @ turboperformanceproducts.com (208) 251 9141. He makes a lot of stuff for dmax and cummins, but will usually make custom stuff at good prices. I run his turbo blanket and up pipe blankets, keep engine compartment a lot cooler.

If you are patient enough you can make one from aluminum sheets.
I have some exhaust shield from trucks I parted that I reshape to my application. It's not a straight bolt in but definitely cheap on the wallet

I like cheap, I will look at work too, we have a cornucopia of weird stuff laying around.

A small piece of exhaust pipe that's a size larger( say 3" over 2.5") with a couple simple brackets works perfectly.

I've seen flexible exhaust pipe used as heat shields on some trucks ,using a piece with a larger I.D. for an air gap..
