On my '89 Blazer the left turn signal works fine, front, dash indicator and rear. The right turn signal works fine some of the times, other times the front and the dash indicator do not work but the rear always does. Even when the front and dash indicators aren't working the flasher doesn't speed up which confuses me even further.

Anyone familiar with the circuit wiring on these or have any other idea what might be causing this intermittent issue?

Does all the lights flash properly when using the hazards? It sounds like the directional switch in the column to me. Doesn't make proper contact every time. Might also be the fuse box connection through the firewall. Sometimes they come loose or the connectors don't make good contact but if the dash light isn't flashing would look to the switch in the column.

I'll try the hazards next time I'm in it, the only thing that lead me away from the switch is the fact that the rear blinker always works.:dunno:

I agree with Massboy.
suspect the multifunction switch on the column. dk. blue wire at the multi-swich is for the right front turn sig(see if it flashes with a test light).

Where are they grounded at? That's what I'll check next. If they're working they work with the multifunction switch and the hazards, if they're not working they don't work with either one.

Well my tbi truck had all the grounds run to a major splice midway through the turn signal harness, about the middle of the core support. I undid the splice and grounded each light. They are much brighter and work a hell of a lot better.
