Is it possible to replace the plastic end of the tv cable?? I broke mine and dont want to replace the whole cable. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this?

I'm going to check the help section at vatozone. I think I've seen replacments before:dunno:

So far no luck:dunno: I dont want to get a whole new tv cable but I may have to:confused: I gotta check napa yet.

vatozone sells a package of metal clips, and my throttle body somehow had the wrong stud on it. i used two and a zip tie to make it work, works great! i can grab the part number in a few

I think he is talking about the plastic piece seen below on the far left

This was talked about a couple months ago and Greg Ducato got the person the needed clip. You might try searching for that post by Greg.

Huh I went to autozone the other day looking for a new tv cable and they had all the plastic pieces and such, just not the cable. I was like wtf?? All I actually need is the cable cuz mines all frayed.

Is that the greg with the gregs72 thread and unimogs?

My autozone couldnt even GET me the cable or anything for it:dunno:
i can get ya the part number from my box when i replaced mine
That would be sweet:thumb:. I'm going to keep searching for now, and I'm thinkin about doing what you did for now. I seen that assortment and had a few ideas, but I wasnt sure if it needed to slide on the cable and couldnt figure out how to do it

I just ordered a new cable today for mine off summit. it was like $33.

I may have to do that. But I was trying to not have to adjust it myself:doah:. I dont like the idea of holding my trannys life in my hands. I've rebuilt a 700r4 twice and boy does it hurt the pocket:whistle:. The bracket I made up for my cables with the tbi spacer would have prevented any adjustment issues.

At an Oreilly's they should have an ATP book for auto transmission parts.

Im almost positive they have them listed in that book, but its been a long while since Ive worked there.

DO NOT drive it with that clip broken off.

I would set it just to be sure after replacing the clip. Never know when there might be a difference in the new end compared to the old one.

Yeah, its not moving till that clips fixed. I dont want to even start it till its fixed. I'm checking O'riellys and NAPA tommorow. I'll have everything else done in short order, I just need to fix that cable to check it all out and see if my spacer made any difference.

I would just ask for the ATP book. Most of the guys at parts stores are too stupid to understand anything that isnt right there in the computer.

When I did leaf springs in my ford, I walk into the parts store and ask for "grade 8 hardware" the guy looked at me like I was speaking chinese or something. He knew right where the gold colored bolts were though:doah:

:haha::haha::haha:

Sounds about on par with my area. I tell them to get the book every time I need front end parts from O'riellys. they never know what I want, But autozone never HAS what I want so I dont even try anymore:rolleyes:

I found it on the ATP website, it took some digging though. For the app, I had to look up an 88 K5 with any engine for it to be listed for whatever reason.

ATP part # YR-100 auto trans detent cable end clip

Amazon has them for $1.47 each:waytogo:

Whats ATP?? not sure what that stands for in the current half drunken state:rolleyes:

Definitly for front end parts get the book out.

For alot of the stuff that I dont need ASAP, I use rockauto.com, great prices, and more than likely if the parts are the wrong ones, it was my fault, not some punk who needs to know if my truck has A/C when I ask for dang ol 1959-1986 chevy valve cover gaskets.
