Well they are pretty bad, so bad in fact that they would lead to a dead end job kind of like a mechanic right???
U mad? And that doesn't even make sense

And I agree with ryan your probably better off getting a bigger single turbo. The twin turbo is better for cramped engine compartments or the cool factor

What did I make up?

I was looking into building a 7-800 hp twin turbo for cheap and it just wouldn't work out so it didn't happen. There is a lot involved in getting the right turbo and stuff.

Since you know so much what do you think of these welds

All I see is bird crap....

I don't know how much info I can add that is worth anything, but I'll try. Next to where I work is Dick Laing deisel service. They do deisels of every sort, and build them for various things. Anywho, friend of a friend works there. Talking about turbos and how I would like to put one on my S-10, but couldn't afford it. He says that it can be done for about $500. He told me what cars to look for, and that the rebuild kits are like $30 or so. The cars were Omni GLH and GLHS, Thunderchicken (bird sorry) Sunbirds, Lancers, now I can't think of them. But they were all T-3s. The Thunderchicken that I found had the intercooler on it, a small one tho. I can probly get the whole deal for $100. I'm not an expert on this stuff, but if it was a mild turbo setup, then I don't see why it wouldn't work, specially with EFI, it can adjust to the different conditions over a carb. This is a good article, reason I want to try it...

You're an idiot. Both inline and independent twin turbos have their applications.

OK OK the reason for the 4-7 cam swap is it IS a more natural progression in the fireing order. It smooths out the engine balances the power to both sides a little better. The goal in the engine build is to build the most efficiant small block i can (its a pushrod engine so it isnt ever going to be close to perfect) not shooting for crazy high HP.

As far as turbos go... even if it comes from e-bay a new garret turbo is still a new garret turbo stick to brand names and how can you go wrong. and e-bay isnt my only sorce.

The single turbo idea.... it comes down to supply and demand theres so many ricer kids buying turbos that smaller 4 cyl turbos are getting cheaper. Also LARGE diesel turbos are getting cheaper but those mid size turbos are still expencive. I have looked into this. **NOTE i did say cheaper not cheap** Secondly a single turbo seams like alot more work: 1 it has to be balanced to both sides of the engine I.E. a crossover exhaust system. 2 a bigger single turbo spools up slower and i want the power spread throughout the power band. 3 what sounds cooler to tell your friends "i got a turbo charged 350" OR "yea my 350 has TWIN turbos"

Thanks Jiminy

Anyway i was looking for positive feedback, maybe tips or sugestions. The way i figure it it can be done for around $6000, when compaired to most crate engines is still a realy reasonable option. Should be around
500-600HP witch is more HP than a comparitivly priced crate engine.

The one thing I realy dont know much about is intercooling. Is an inner cooler just a radiator of sorts that your boosted air flows though? Someone please put it in backwards redneck terms for me.

Compressing air heats it up, as does the heat that the turbo generates by itself. An intercooler just cools the compressed air back down.

That's my understanding also.It basically cool's the boosted air before it is pumped back into the engine.
