I need to find a front U-Bolt kit for a 73 Chevy K20 with Dana 44HD with 4" lift springs. I guess companies like Pro Comp, Rancho, Skyjacker...etc. sell em but I cant find a part #.

or you can buy my old ones for $35 shipped. 4 bolts and nuts.

What year are your old ones? Are they for stock springs or lifted springs?

year and axle doesnt matter, 10b or d44. mine was a 77 d44. these are for a lift pack. stock springs are 2 or 3 layers. lift packs are 5-7 layers

On Dana 44's the year does matter. The early Dana 44's had a smaller diameter axle tube and different spring plates to match the smaller u-bolts.

Yes my 73 Dana 44HD has a smaller tube than the 81 10 Bolt Im swapping from. would have thought it be the other way around. Im putting the lift on the 73 from the 81 Blazer. So Ive swapped the springs but had to use the lift kit U Bolts on the 81 Blazer, and the stock U Bolts on the 73 are too short to use with the lift springs... is this getting confusing?? So in order to complete the full suspension swap I need another set of U bolts to go with the lift springs in front on a 73 Chevy K20 with the Dana 44HD.

Just get the size's You need and go buy new ones at Napa. They run around $7.50 a pop and come with the nuts and washers.

As I understand it there is no specific cut off year for the axle tube diameter switch or the D44 to 10 bolt switch. I think the 67-72 trucks use the small tube diameter and 73 to maybe 75 also use the small tube diameter. Around 76 they switched to the large tube D44 and I think it also got a new spindle at this time that uses a larger inside wheel bearing. Most of the trucks I have seen up to 78 have a D44, and from 79 to 87(91) they had 10 bolts. Some people claim to have seen a 10 bolt in an earlier truck and a D44 in a 79 and it might be possible that during the D44/10 bolt swap Chevy used whatever they in stock until the D44's were gone. I think the two tube diameters used were 2.75" and 3.00", although I have never measured.

swap the axle too. Just a thought

The Dana 44HD is a li'l beefier than a 80's 10 bolt. Also the 3/4 ton Dana 44 is 8 lug and the 81 Blazer 10 bolt is 6 lug. I wanna keep my 14 bolt and D44. :doah:

Beats me  I also don't know why he is selling parts in the Garage; that's what the "for sale" boards are for...

$45 is high for "used" front u bolts. I got a set thrown in with a set of shocks, and it was a full set, 3 for the front, two studs with nuts, and 4 for the rear(d60 and 14bff) :o

ps did I mention they were new................ :D
