Alright here we go, my buddy is trying to get his truck together for Bloomsburg Truck nationals this weekend. He has a rear axle out of a 1985 Chevy Blazer, an SM465 with an NP205 out of a 70 something and a driveshaft from a 77 burb shortened up. The shaft has a 1310 on the axle end but the axle isn't a 1310 joint. What joint would the axle be? It doesn't have tabs so the joint has to have inner clips that hold it in place. After an hour at Autozone we figured it was some Cleveland P55 joint and they couldn't get us a conversion joint fast enough. Anyone else have an idea?

Assuming the burb the driveshaft came out of was a 1/2 ton it should of had a 12 bolt and the 85 blazer would be a 10 bolt it should use that conversion joint. The 10 bolts used 1310 joints it was just wider than a normal u-joint. Did you try a different parts place someone should have that joint in stock.

The stock rear axle joint on an '85 blazer should be a saginaw S44.

12 B to 10 B u-joint. I forgot the part number , joint is on my spare shaft and spare in trailbox . Oh , its in the members section though , pn 3-3130 , should be store stock

THANK YOU, yeah the shaft uses 1310 and the axle is the Saginaw mentioned, thanks guys. A 1310 doesn't fit in the 10 bolt, the caps are too small.

Your welcome , but don't thank me , Tim posted it in the members section awhile back /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
