Ok so if you wanted to keep your 10 bolt axles for ground clearance and weight and because it's already there, what are all the different upgrades you can do to make them live a longer happy life?
Truss but which one?
Locker or limited slip but which one?
RCV shafts.
Dynatrac ball joints or a kingpin conversion?
Best hub locks or drive flanges?
Brake upgrades, rear disk?

I'm kinda in this same boat and have waffled back and forth. I suppose that you need to decide where you want the weak link to be. Obviously, as you upgrade strength of each part, the weak link moves around.

I have a 10b with yukon gears and an eaton e-locker. I have yukon joints($100 from a friend), but have not done the axles yet. Have been on the fence with spending the $500 on the axles or finding a 60. Hopefully, if the axles are done the weak link will be the warn hubs. I'd hate to get everything installed and then break a pinion shaft on the trail. Flanges are not even being considered due to this fear.

Also, I haven'e seen a kingpin conversion for 44/10b. I know they made a 44 kingpin for fords in the late 60s or thereabouts.

If you really wanna keep the 10b/D44 you need chromoly shafts

if you beat on it, expect to replace locking hubs and ball joints on a regular basis, and eventually a pinion/ring gear or pin/carrier on the locker

I've seen a few 10 bolts bend like bananas after a truck "got some air" off roading, even ones that had a truss...saw two that had the axle tube break off at the diff housing too...so don't do any jumps with one!..

On the other hand I know guys who did a lot of trail riding and never had any issues--because they didn't whale the piss out of the truck or get it airborne..I think big tires being so heavy it puts a 10 bolt beyond its limits too, tires over 36" can help bust one up a lot faster than stock sized tires..

I would do ARB's front and rear.

RCV's in the front.

As far as ball joints, Dynatrac stuff is good, but from my experience Moog is one of the better ones.

Yukon Hardcore hubs are probably the strongest out there as well.

I built a 35 spline kingpin dana 44 with dana 50 carrier and jk44 gears. Good clearance, pretty stout, and big steering parts. WAY over the cost of buying a 60. It was cool af though.

Was it High Pinion?

I feel that you left out some information.
What size tires?
What type of off road use?
Are you heavy on the throttle?
How much power?

There seems to be lots of improvements available for the front axle, the rear would be better to upgrade to either a custom 9" or a semi-floating 6 lug 14B.
I have used the semi-floating 14B for a bit and saw how much bigger it is than a 10B. I like it, but I didn't use it rough before I parked it.
I have watched one of those axles in Moab some. No breakage yet, with an ARB.
