Ummm... WOW!!!! I want this!!!

Yea, No way that underside would be so dirty. Also, it needed the alternator replaced in only 14kmiles?

It is in Michigan, tho.... :haha:

I could give the benefit of doubt, on the alternator.
There are ways to kill one in a jiffy.
We all know this... :haha:

But, the frame just screams, +100K....

Pics that make me say, Nope,

Wait, isnt that a replacement power steering pump too? At least one of those hose clamps is non factory. That and 14k? Nope! I think the upper radiator hose clamp is non factory as well as the plug wires.

Oh sh*t, I didn't even catch those... :doah:

That's some pretty deep pitting for 14K road miles.

14K plus almost 25 years for rust to make it worse, could be. 114K could be possible too, IMO mileage on these trucks doesn't mean much.

Very clean rig for sure, but I, myself, feel the low mileage old vehicles are horribly overrated. Honestly, in my opinion, if it had 100K and was used every one in a while it would be worth more to me. Every "low mileage" 20+ year old vehicle I've been around ended up needing way more work than anticipated.

The problem is that seals dry out when oil isn't splashed against them from use, engine parts etc pick up surface rust from sitting. Hell, in humid climates, the cylinder walls rust if you don't run the truck often.

That is true, when I did fleet maintenance, we had some dump trucks with LOW mileage (80's trucks with 8k miles for example) and they seemed to have more troubles than the ones that ran more often.

Regardless of whether this truck has 14k or 114k though, it sure is clean! Looking at the pics, it looks cleaner than my K5 that I had that was a southern truck- this is the first truck from MI I've seen that I'd buy! (I've seen four year old trucks from up north that have more rust on then than this one looks like it has!)

Can't beat the drivetrain and body style combo on this one! I've been looking for a truck like this for quite some time, just wish the price was lower (not saying the truck isn't worth the price (IMHO it is) but, it's a hard sell trying to convince my wife! LOL!

That truck does not have 14k miles on it.

Run the CarFax and you'll see it has at least 100k miles, if not 200k.

My 1991 with 235k miles is just as "clean".

Thanks for running it bro! I don't have Carfax. If you wouldn't mind taking another look, I'd greatly appreciate it- did it show any accidents or any other bad stuff? Thanks!

I don't believe it was a military truck. If it was, it should be diesel with a 3-spd auto and painted camo green and have a 24-volt charging system to fit the standard the military requires for its vehicles.

My bet is the guy bought an old farm truck, did a decent paint job, bought new rims and tires, made up a history for it and is now trying to turn a profit on it.

The engine has been taken apart, at least the valve covers have been taken off, I don't think GM ever put those little load spreader things on the covers at the factory.

I've seen those before on untouched factory engines.

...isn't that the wrong body style for an 88...
