Have a '90 K5. Wanted to really clean and repaint visible parts of frame, axles, etc. I realize I could just start spraying but wanted to get some tips on cleaning good, sanding, etc. (This is not the easiest place to wash and prep) Unfortunately I don't have access to a lift. I do have a pressure washer. I would welcome any input from someone who has done this.

tiger - I got this "purple stuff" cleaner and sprayed it on everything I could find, then power washed it off. I was suprised at the cleaning power of that stuff. Once I did that I taped up whatever I did not want to hit, and started spraying. I did the parts of the chassis I could get to, and the inner fenders. Really made the truck look better too.

Good luck with it.

Did you do any sanding on the frame, axles, etc. or just paint after washing. I just put a 3" lift on and I'm wanting it to look good underneath.
