unknown front axle

Nobody ever checks the home page articles anymore...

Notice the two small 'ears' at the bottom of the diff? (5 o'clock and 7 o'clock)

Those ears are more obvious in real life and are the dead giveaway that you have a 10 bolt.

Attachments are a paid member perk FWIW, as is having a photo gallery to upload your pic's to here.

What he said ^. Rear 10 bolts have a round cover, while front 10 bolts have an eccentric ovoid shaped cover - it looks a bit like an egg lying on it's side. Both have the "ears" on the bottom.

I've been a member so long i forgot that the attachment thing was a member only option. :doah: I have been talking to him through Yahoo messenger and he already looked at the axle ID chart and was still confused. The pic you posted was of a rear 7.5" 10 bolt corporate. The pic of the 8.5" 10 bolt corporate isn't a very accurate pic so that is why he was confused.

That is correct.....I have talked with "4X4HIGH" and confirmed it is a 10 bolt... After he had showed me a true to life accurate picture. The pictures that are drawn arent depicted accurately. But still I appreciate all that have put up with the non-sense and plan to keep it to a minimum in the future....

thanks again.....

They are depicted accuratley for a rear axle just not the front. The front cover is shaped like this.
