Unloading Axles - Local Cherry Picker?

Yep, I'm a wuss. With a recent freak shoulder injury, i couldn't put my own car into reverse with my right hand for a few days. :doah:

Its so not worth hurting myself over unloading these. I'll be patient and do it right.

Just messing with ya.
I am more into using my resources now that I am older and it would be much harder to recover from any injury.
But last month I helped someone load a D44 fully dressed into my sub, I didn't want to get dirty so I helped and it was easy enough for both of us, I do have doors though so no worries about damaging my tailgate which I did in my K5 when I loaded all kinds of axles and parts.

Help?? Cherry picker?? What are those?? I never was lucky enough to have anyone around when I have heavy crap, so I end up loading or unloading myself. I don't mess with 44s or 10 bolts much, but they are pretty easy to move around after you move a couple complete 60s and 14ff's around. Drag it to the end of the tail gate, lay one end down, then the other. Who needs to go to a gym when you can do this all the time??

That is how I stayed in shape, and I never go to the gym.
I always am parting something and moving parts.
Now I am just being more carefull because I am 45 and I have a kid that depends on me being healthy, so now I have a cherry picker, and anything else I need.:thumb:

I need help justifying one....there is a local one for like $60. I JUST did the axle swap and could have really used one. What else do you use them for (besides engine lift)

Can I use it for my dirtbike? Vstrom? Its one of those things I would like to have....but not sure I need...

I do have a spare 14b with no hubs in the driveway that needs to be moved to the scrap yard:whistle: maybe I could move it to my trailer...drive it to scrap yard...and get the $60 back?

I got mine when they had them on sale 10 years ago and I needed it to change engines on my truck, still have it today, need a new caster on the rear left, but otherwise still works fine, it's a 2ton.

AND...they're out!
DocfeelGood came over for with a beast of a cherry picker and helped me out. Really, was easier than i thought it would be.

Gotta love the brotherhood.

Thanks again Tom!

Justification? For tools? Whassat?

Seriously, the only downside is storing the damn thing. I've used it to pull a motor, to hold another motor while switching crossmembers, to remove the Blazer top, maybe the rollcage, and I seem to recall an incident with a very stubborn fencepost stub in concrete.

However, that's like once a year, and the rest of the time it lives in the back of the shed, taking up space. :dunno:

i know i know...but thats the key. no shed here, just a 2 car garage with a couple motorcycles and tons of tools, welder , etc already filling it up.

its the room and need more than cost...hell, i have a blazer, that proves i dont justify cost

I just backed up to the garage..... slid the 14 bolt off the tailgate on one end of the axle...set that end down.....

pivoted the other end around off the tailgate and set it down on the ground...

:dunno:

but then again....I'm 6'7" 375 lbs....

I also carry around engine blocks...:waytogo:

No, that's a tow strap, a D-ring, and a truck.

Well, I did mean the winch on the front of the truck. But you can push as well as pull:
