I just ordered a NATIONAL Hydraulic sheet metal shear 52" X 16ga capacity!!!! :saweet::saweet::saweet: (.062 steel, .037 stainless steel) One in the link is a 5212, mine is the same machine just 5216. Scroll down for capacity info.

http://www.national-1.com/hydraulicshears.php

I have been wanting one of these for a LOOOOONG time. I bought a Chicago Dries & Krump hydraulic shear the same capacity for my last machine shop on company dime of course and loved it. I personally would have wanted a thicker gauge machine but it would have been forever out of my reach financially. Even this machine was out of reach for me too. It lists for $7250.00. Cheapest I have found online was $5850. Most places are $6200 up to list price! :eek1:. I just ordered this from Rutland tool supply, they sent me a sale flier showing a price of $3195.00!!! :eek1:

Total is $3441.97 out the door!!:eek1::eek1: It's more then enough for me for a home shop machine. I would LOVE a 1/4 cut capacity but of course your talking 20k to 30K atleast. Good thing is I will be able to pay it off within the next month more then likely. It was there only one they had in stock. I knew it was an awesome price so I jumped all over it. I just have to drive to Reno NV and pick it up. Or pay a rediculous shipping charge which I wont pay. My bud has a trailer and a diesel, he'll help me with it. My hearts pounding with excitement, I'm giddy like a school girl :D :haha::haha::haha:My woman is going to blow a gasket over this one big time. Hay, It was a good deal!!! I'm a bargain shopper right :wink1: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Say it with me, "But look at how much I saved, honey!"

Grats!

Forget your ol lady!! I'm pissed you are on the complete other side of America from me!! :eek1:

I'd love to have that out in my shop so I could use it twice a year! :D

Cool, a town named after me!! :haha:

Rene

Yeah, it's on the outskirts of Sporks, but it's not as cool as you. :D

So will you be taking the back road into Rene? :haha::haha::haha:

:haha::haha:LOL! Well in my excitement of getting my new shear I have now named a town after Rene, thats on the outskirts aparently of a town called Sporks, but thats not as cool as Rene, and I have to decide if I want to take the back road into Rene!?!? Rene absolutely deserves a town named after him without a doubt, he's THAT cool. There just no way in hell anybody in Sporks, or, basically the ENTIRE town of Sporks could possibly be cooler then Rene, there just no way. Now the decision to go the back road into Rene is a tough one. He's pretty freaking cool I gotta say. If I was gonna go that route, I could do worse :D :haha::haha::rotfl::rotfl: Might be a smooth road, ya just never know :dunno:. But if it's well traveled it might be a bumpy one I would rather not go down. Just to be on the safe side, I think I won't. :haha:

Dear god, ......what has happen to my wonderful thread about my new shear? :(:p::haha:

How big of a space do you have to put it in? I'm super jealous. Hell i don't even have a garage of my own:(

I understand what it does but what the hell are YOU gonna do with it? I mean, how much would you actually use it? Especially for $3500?

I only have a two car garage. It's PACKED with equipment, tools, and parts, motors, axles. I will have to do some re-aranging big time. :D My buddy is always amazed ay how well I goe more and more stuff in my garage and still have room to get around. It's getting too full though, But I will get it in god willing.

green with envy...

heck I'd be happy as a pig in poo with something that did 16g 24" wide... well, actually I'd like 12g 24" wide....

Well I told her over the phone so if she started yelling I could get a bad connection all the sudden :D :haha:She's not pissed, just more worried that I have to get off work at 2am Friday morning, drive to Reno for 8+ hours, pick it up, drive home 8+ hours and head straight to work for the night, then home for sleep. The drive is going to be brutal. A buddy says it's too long a drive for one person so he is going to take the day off and go with to help out. Which is very very cool.

Absolutely!! He helps me and I help him any time either one needs it. Well I picked up some 2" heavy duty ratchet straps for strapping this thing down. Also picked up some D rings. Not going to bolt the D rings down but use them to strap around if necessary, like in the pics. Can't wait to get this bad boy home.
