UPDATE post 29: Hydraulic Shear is home SEE PICS!!!

Here's a couple of pics from my last machine shop I worked at, you can see the Chicago shear I bought for the shop. Same size machine as what I ordered other then manucafturer. We left the suport arms unless we needed them so nobody ran into them. They stick out a couple of feet.

Very nice and suprisingly clean. I miss working in the machine shop - ok really I just miss having access to the shop after hours:D

You are a luck man to have a woman who did not get pissed when you bought that awesome tool. Bad ass! Good luck with the trip to Reno.

No ****. Our fab shop isn't bad, just not that clean. But the weld shop... it has it's days.

Well my shear is home. I'm dead tired, drove the entire time cause I didn't want my friend to possibly get a ticket helping me out. His company and help was more then enough. He tried to get me to let him drive but I said nope! About 18 hours of driving on 5 hours of sleep yerterday and now I got to go to work. :doah:With what I must do before I can unload this thing tomorrow I will be on a 45 hour day. Brutal. I will post pics tomorrow.

Hey that's what caffiene is for right. A monster every two hours should keep your body moving even if your asleep :D

Glad to hear the trip went well and you, your buddy and your shear are safely home. Get some sleep after work and then post up some pics of your new shear. :)

can't wait to see where he ramf*cks this thing in that shop.... I'm always amazed at Rob's garage... I'll just use the term "cluttered".... :haha:

it's all good, but I could never have it that way, I do WAY too much bodywork type stuff, grinding/sanding/spraying, etc... I'd have to blow the dungeon out daily... :doah:

if he ever gets a day off, I'll be anxious to see the first project with this beast...

Well here she is. It was a little scary getting it off my truck but my neighbor and good friend Tony and I used this method to unload my Logan lathe too and it worked like a charm. My friend is a master welder and expert rigger so I never worry however he suggests to do things like this. Only thing we had to do was air down my tires completely to offload the full weight of the machine so it ballenced, and just hung there. It's suposed to be 1400 lbs and it feels every bit of that, this thing is HEAVY!! :eek1:

It was easy to hold, he pulled the truck out while I suported it from tilting either way and he jacked it down while I held it while he lowered it onto the new heavy Duty carper dollies I bought to roll it from his house to my house. It will stay at his house for a week or two till I make room for it in my garage. And I WILL get it in there no doubt. Tony always is amazed at what I bring home and can fit in my garage :D. Oh and MADE IN USA!!!! There is a few things left to assemble but not till it's in my garage.

This Mitler Bros Box & Pan Brake is the brake I want when I can afford it. It's not a traditional brake. Has WAAAAY more bending capabilities then a traditional brake with all the finger adjustability. Very cool machine. $3K is about what a traditional one cast so thats a great price for the capibility this one has. Will bend complex shapes a standard brake just can't do.
