update:

we have a problem getting IR's warrantied... sent an ir 3/8 in that was 4 months old, got it back THREE months later and they wouldnt warranty it, that was the last straw for me...

yesterday i bought the complete set of blue point ratch wrenches 8mm-25mm, MG31 3/8" impact, ordered 3/8" swivel socket set, ordered the snap on air hammer kit, 3/8s and 1/2 impact universal joints, got a free tool bag, pitcher, 6 cups and a ice cub tray lol. My 1/2-3/8" 36 inch long adapter is ordered. But wow I love that lil 3/8s impact, and the 2 yr warranty.

yeah, its great... sell the heck out of them, still

ph3050ch4? great set, cant go wrong with it, add a phg84 and phg69/93 and you'll be set up right!

lil update: just got in my 3/8s impact swivel socket set, ordered the lisle air hammer clutch fan kit, bought some torx sockets, got some twist sockets (for gettin out rounded off bolts and its matco), just got my 36in adapter ext., got a 15 piece fuel and a/c line disconnect set, and i think thats all for right now.

maybe $4500 i co-oped in highschool at a car dealership and i spent a lil money then, then i worked in constructionfor a year, and now im back wrenching and i love it.

I make my living with electrical tools, as far as strippers go anything klein would be worth the money-very dependable. but my everyday strippers are actually made by ideal. if you are working on vehicles i would consider something small so you can fit in tight places.

Damn I feel like a tool junkie :( I dont even want to attempt to say what I have in tools. I do know that all of them are covered on my insurance policy for sure!

50 g's or so....

A good friend of mine had to get his box appraised as he was going through a BK. His box is a 72" Snap-on bottom. I think it was 30 " deep and about 40" tall. Anyway, it wasn't full and had a mix of Mac, Matco, Snap-On, Craftsman, etc tools in it. The Snap-On rep did the appraisal for him for a fee. The value he came up with was 65K. Now, this was a replacement value with all Snap-On tools, but still, that's a lot of coin.

I've estmated my two boxes around 5-7K, although I wouldn't be surprised if they were alot more if based on replacement value. And that's almost all Craftsman tools. I have a semi-inventory somewhere. Some day I plan on going to all Snap-on. I tend to think it's worth it...

Thats an off the top of the head conservative estimate too... heck, I have about 50 air hammer bits.... :eek1: :haha:

All my daily handtools are pretty much Snappy... All wrenches under 1 1/2", all sockets, screwdrivers, prybars, punches/chisels... Most of my air stuff is too... Everything in a plastic case too.... But for the items I use very infrequently, I have some Craftsman, etc...

I wish I had a Matco guy.. I don't own one Matco tool... They seem like they might be a nice compromise between say Craftsmen and Snappy/ Mac, pricewise...

Hand tools go MAC. Air tools I like IR, Napa also has some really nice air tools. No need to buy mac/matco/snap-off/cornwell air tools, they are IR anyhow.

again, another incorrect statement from someone without REAL knowledge of what he speaks...

hey ryo, check out danaher.com

think that's the site anyways... they manufacture craftsman and matco... fwiw

I've got a crapsman professional 3/8s air ratchet and I'm just hoping it doesnt take a dump in the next 2 months or so.

:haha:I've been there. Craftsman air tools are decent at best, better than Harborjunk I guess.

You know those 8.99 harborfreight angle grinders? After having two gernade on me I don't shop at ****freight anymore.

I like IR air tools, fair priced, only had 1 blow out on me. Matco/MAC air tools are all just re-labeled IR anyways. Snap-on used to be, but now I've heard they went with some other manufacture.

just ordered a 3/8s drive techangle torque wrench. Ive been borrowing a buddies 1/2in and i feel in love it it. works alot better than the J tool lol

got myself reamed out a lil more today but i needed the stuff. First set of punches/chiesels, vise grips all snappy. bought their 3 pc needle nose and 3 pc dyke sets. Got the mid size bearing seperator and ordered the next up size. ordered a seal puller, im tired of using screwdriver and hammer method. a pair of long 45 angled needle nose. and i think thats its total was just over $$700
