its 6" x 2" x .188"wall (My buddy chris gave me 4 49" sections /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif FREEBIE!)
The brackets are 1/4", I started by making a top plate and bolting it on, I trimmed off about 1.5" off the front of the frame rails, clamped on the side brackets and tack welded them. Then I put the tube up to the brakets and tack welded it, pulled it back off and welded it up. Marked and use a torch to trim the ends and make the hole for the hitch receiver. Once it goes back I'n I'm going to but the body lift on and then there should be enough room to make some tubes come out and wrap under the fenders.

Maybe tomorrow I'll start the side sections after i get the body lift put on, then next week I'll make a matching rear bumper (I'll bob 3" off the rear frame rails)

yep started about 11am and worked on it on and off all day till about 10pm /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Hopefully tomorrow I can start the outer edges if I get the body lift done (I have to grind down the diamond tread a little and make square holes because I'm putting in some extra long 1/2" carrage bolts I got for free /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Only one question: Where's the diamond plate? It can't be JJL without gratituous use of diamond plate /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: NEW PROJECT! More pics... Front bumper started

I'd have slid a bracket over on each side to tie into the body mount.....

Other than I think that you should have sunk the reviever in as far as possible, I love it

It was going to be all that 1/4" bar stock, then I was going to skin it with 1/8" diamond plate /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
Since my buddy gave me some free stuff that works (and is easier than bending diamond plate) I decided to use it. There will still be a diamond plate skid plate in the front /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Got the body lift most the way on... all except the front two I'll finish it off tomorrow and get the bolts cut to length. Then I can start the rear bumper (I already have the brackets cut just need to mock it up and tack it together), then I'm going to trim the fenders just a hair more and do some more welding.
-getting the pucks in the rear

-then I took the high lift and lifted the passengers side till I had the jacksatand maxed, then done the drivers side.

Did anyone ever tell you that your frame looks like it's going to break in half? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
