79 Jimmy, the WA state patrol had a road block set up just before the border crossing. They saw 5 Super Swampers stuffed in the back of my truck and became quite interested

I guess they thought the tires might be hot, who knows for sure? Wouldn't let me go until they ran my DL and had a look at every tire. Then they wanted a receipt for the tires, good thing I had one! Finally 20 minutes later they let me go. Then I got to drive 100 yards and start all over again with the border guy. He knew what Swampers were and refused to believe I only paid so much for them. I stuck to my story and gave him the receipt and told him that he was welcome to call the guy and confirm the price for the tires.

'FearMe' (Roger) put his phone number on the reciept.

After about 20 more minutes of crap back and forth I guess the guy realized I wasn't about to budge any and let me go pay the taxes inside! At least the lady there was friendly!
It was all worth it.
Going up to Eagle Ridge on Sunday, I guess I'll get to test em out there!

Thanks Espen! Ripping Stephen off a little here, "trying to make the world a better place, one beaver shot at a time!"

Rene,

Your task would be much easier if you did not use part of the door jamb. What I mean is, when you remove your bedsides and floor, only cut the outer portion of the bedsides from the door jamb. THen drill out the spot welds on the inside of the C-Pillar. Next, drill out the spots where the half cab shell meets the bedside. You will notice the bedside extend approximately 4-6" under the cab shell. After you have this removed, you should be able to remove the bedsides and floor easily. To put it on, just unbolt the front section of your new "Tub" where it bolts to the floor. You would do this so you can pull outward on both bedisides to get them over the door jamb lip. You could then weld it together then. I am afraid, if you go the route you are talking about by cutting the tub in half into the door jambs, you may weaken your tub and never get the structural integrety back. By doing it the way I specified, you will still have the factory C-Pillar untouched and will not loose the structure holding the top up. You will probably notice that your bedsides almost completely unbolt from the vehicle. The only welds are on the C-pillar and inner door jamb. Of course, Im not telling you what to do, just offering advice from my Bedside swap. Hope all goes well. Your rig looks Killer!

Thanks for the input Mudzer! Unfortunately my current door jamb area is pretty well FUBAR, the whole area is weak, whereas the tub is rust free. I have access to a fab shop for this ( I fabricate for a living so the tooling to do this right is at my finger tips so to speak) I will be making some pre-measured supports for under the floor where it will be cut and some to support the roof section as well. One of the other reasons for doing this is that the donor is a '73 and is getting grafted onto an 81 body. Hmmmm....the plot thickens

Should be fun!
