Used np205 price

From what I gather, since it comes from a TH350 and I have a TH350 the adaptors are the same. 205 is 11” shorter so a a new rear driveline. Since it has twin stick, then thats done.
Cross member should be able to stay put.... we’ll see how it goes...

You guys get $200 for a 10 spline out there? They are like doorstops around here. Nobody wants to run them anymore.

Pretty easy to swap them over to a 27 or bore it for a 32

adapters for the 203 and 205 are different so you’ll need to source the th350/np205 adapter. Advanced Adapter sells them https://www.advanceadapters.com/pro...pter-housing-for-th350-transmissions-6273963/

I have never sold a non 10 spline for less than 600 bucks in central Texas. I have sold two round patterns for 1200 each.
10 spline I'm lucky for 200.
Its totally location related.

Yeah after weighing my options, which basically means money. I’m just going to stick it out with my 203. I have a spare 203 anyway if that one poops out.

From driveline, adaptor and what Im assuming the seller wants. Also having to replace my transmission, welp I’m just not rich enough.

My transmission is priority number one. I guess I was a bit naive in what I thought a used 205 would go for.

Maybe I misread a post on here or misread above, but they stayed that if the tranny is a Th350 that the 205 comes from it will work with a th350 that has a 203. Tcase adaptors are different bit the th350 is the same. If thats true I shouldnt need the adapter linked above.

The 205 im looking at is mated to a th350, I currently have and will purchasing a new th350, so I shouldn’t need a separate adapter. The correct one would already be on the 205

Another thing to watch for is that alot of the 205's that came behind th350's are early ones and mite have the 10 spline front output with a yoke instead of 30 spline with a flange

I swapped a NP-205 from a '72 K10 into my 77 GMC K2500 that came with a NP-203..(and it had a TH350,behind a 454)...
The rear driveshaft still fit fine,it was the front one that needed to be shorter,I lucked out and found one off a '69 K10 that was the right length (about 23" instead of 28" or so)--the NP-205 had a front yoke similar to the rear one,not the round 4 bolt flange type..
The NP-205 had the adapter from a TH350,it appeared to have a big ball bearing with a splined inner race to mate with the transmission input shaft..

Overall the swap was pretty easy, everything bolted up ok,it was the front shaft that was the only headache..but since different years and models vary somewhat, this may not hold true in all cases..

th350 with 203 or 205 use the same length/spline count TAIL SHAFT in the trans .

also here is a option for some now . th350 with 203 or 205 output tail shaft PLUS np205 10 spline input from 4 speed trans with correct th350 to np205 adapter and this part here . https://www.offroaddesign.com/drive-sleeve-for-th350-using-10-spline-np205-27-x-10-spline.html

and there is always the wanted / sale section for parts . i have LOTS of 205 parts .

That's good to know you can use a SM465 10 spline NP-205 behind a TH350 with that new coupling sleeve..there's a lot more 10 spline ones around for sale cheaper than the 27 spline NP-205's..

You still need to find the rare adapter, or buy expensive aftermarket

You mean the "figure 8" race track style adapter ?..they aren't that rare around here...

I see T-cases like this one for sale online fairly often,this SM420 & what appears to be a NP-205 & bell housing is listed for $150 ,from a '67 K10...SM420 & NP-205.jpg

They are rare not because of the low production numbers which were kind of low, but because they break a lot for some reason.
Every time I sold one, it was to replace a broken one

I have one on a '72 NP-205 I saved from my '77 GMC when I scrapped it..guess I'd better hang onto it..
I see them around every so often at swap meets and the going rate for one is usually $50 or less..

Also came across an adapter fro a TH350 to NP-203 I took off the same truck when I swapped the NP-205 into it..still have the NP-203 and shifter too,I think the chain was stretched out in it,it would "skip" on a fast take off, that is why I replaced it..

The th350/203 and the 465/205 are a dime a dozen.
The 465/203 and the th350/205 as well as th400/203 are rare

Up here the TH400 to NP-205 are hard to find and not cheap..
Ditto for the NP-208/TH400 adapters--most trucks of that era are already scrapped and their parts are sold and in use...
Seems like adapters for TH350's and 700R4's are common still and aren't that costly..
I got one off a NP-208 for a 700R4 that was going to be scrapped for free from a friend..

I scored a 32 spline NP-208 with a TH400 adapter for $35 several years ago at a swap meet..bought it for a spare for my pickup..

The T-case in it wont come out of 4wd,it still sends power to the front shaft in the 2wd position, and I've checked the adjustment on the shifter and its right,so it must be internal...been driving it 16 years with the hubs unlocked on the street in fair weather..had to replace one u-joint at the front diff last yearand both axle joints, surprisingly the CV joints in the drive shaft are still tight..only driven it about 15,000 miles in that time period though..

that's a Rockwell t-case and being married to the trans is kind of a rare unit . lots of them were divorced .
