V band kits

my problem is the flanges on the collectors are bent and distorted to the point that they hit each other and will not get any tighter. Its somewhat leak free with a cu and paper gasket doubled up. Can't expect anything better from a 50 dollar used set of long tubes.

bet if you cut em off an inch back from the flange and welded one of those on, you'd be fine... given that 360 welding one in a truck isn't necessarily easy peezy... and that the next pipe would than probably be short of what you'd need...

No, I'm just using regular nuts and bolts, and im positive that them becoming loose is what is blowing out my gaskets.

So don't make things harder than they need to be. If you're already setup for flanges and gaskets then stick with it and tackle the problem associated with them.
Hit up Summit and order some locking bolts and some really thick gaskets and you'll be happy. Cheap too.

I started using a header and collector gasket called Remflex and have not had an issue since. These gaskets are super thick and are made of graphite and compress 50%.

Maybe what I'll do, until I go to a doubler and have to change my exhaust all up, is get the stage 8 bolts and use the Remflex gasket.

Every gasket type and locking bolt set up that I have ever used on the header exhaust flange has eventually failed. I finally sucked it up and replaced the end with a ball and socket set up. Never had an issue after that. After I had the new ends welded to the header I also had the headers Jet Hot coated to make them last.
