Ok, well my weird problems thread the problem was a broken throttle cable. Was driving with the plastic sheath binding.....anyway, got a new problem now.

now that I can get into the secondaries, once they open.....they stay open. If I punch it and they click open, they will stay partially open even after I let off the gas and the primaries have fully closed. What could cause this? I have a Speed Demon 850 with vac secondaries. Does anyone have any ideas? If I get out and manually tug on the secondary linkage it will idle down.

God damn Chris just give me the truck since you cant seem to drive it without all these problems... Ill trade you the brown interior for it.

Sounds like something is binding in the linkage or the diaphram is hard and not returning all the way. There is no choke on this carb correct

Yeh i have the primaries and secondaries open the same amount and the 4 corner idling set the same. With the engine off I can flick the linkage free and its fine. Start the truck and its fine, once they open they dont shut back til you either manually push the linkage closed or switch the truck off. I had it stuck open, clicked the ignition off, pushed it to neutral and restarted it and it was fine. The second you remove the vacuum it is free....

*sigh* I knew I shoulda got mechanical secondaries......Oh and there is a choke, but it is manual.

is the choke pulled all the way open. if not it usually wont let the secondaries open and there fore may be hanging it up so it wont close. I would look at the diaphram and the spring
