Valve Job

Chef is BACK!!!!

.....and probably with a cool new scar to show off!! :waytogo:

:usaflag:

Getting stronger

Getting stronger and healthier every day. They had to rebuild the mitral valve as well and replace the aerotic root and valvle. More work than any of us thought going into it, but everything has gone
really well.

Things had gotten so bad going into it that I was in a state of slow degredation until the new parts were in place, the old system could not even function at this point.
First time I got the valve done I was 35 and had no sysmptoms. This time I was 43 and unpreparred, blindsided by pnumonia and Flu before this it was not good timing but needed done.

I am just now getting things together enough to post. Managing pain and trying to get outta here are the 2 biggest immediate concerns.

I got a really good excuse to make some life style changes, some Are gonna be easy some are gonna be forced, I'm gonna have to take blood thinners and buy buy a bunch of helmets!

I thank everybody for their thoughts prayers and well wishes. It's time to get well make some changes and have some fun!

Glad everything went OK.
It's funny as we age we need to change things to feel better. When we were young we could just eat and drink what we wanted. I think our bodies are just getting even with us.

Life style changes are hard at first but you eventually get used to it and the amazing thing is they really pay off!!

I no longer smoke nor drink. I also make sure I eat a high fiber diet. Sure all those changes suck, but I really do feel better and I'm knocking on 50's door.

I will be adding some reading material on my build for ya.

Thanks for the update - I'm glad your doing well and the were able to take care of the unexpected stuff while they were in doing the valve job! Continue to get stronger and post when you are up to it.

Yea, good to hear things ate headed the right direction. Sounds like doctors can get the "might as wells" too. ;)

Progress

Yesterday I cranked out a couple of prize wining BMs! Having been through this before I knew to roll them over and write down the confirmation codes before setting them into the wild.

But the big news is being off oxegen all morning.

Glad to hear it buddy! We got a couple inches of snow today, the blazer is refusing to move at the moment though, Decieded that the tranny fluid looks better all over the asphalt under it than it does in the tranny for some reason? On a better note Me and eddie have a late christmas/Getwell/Get your butt wheeling present. :D
