Okay, I have searched, but I can't find what I am looking for. Anyone have a link to a tech article on converting a non-tilt 67-72 automatic truck to a Van tilt column of the same era?

I bought a Van tilt column for my '69 & wanted to do some looking before I jumped into the swap. Thanks, Boz.

Unless you are trying to switch to a floor shift (manual) there's not much to convert. Just have someone really heavy sit on the end to compress the shaft an inch or two until it's short enough to bolt back in. You can also just use it as-is and switch to a ujoint style steering linkage instead of the rag joint.

This thread here has some good info in it. Scroll down around post number twenty and there is some good info and pics. There are other ways to do it, but I like this method the best as it nets a very authentic looking product with a safe shortening of the shaft.

Thanks, guys.

Just looking at it, It appears to me that there would be a problem with the transmission linkage. Prolly just an optical alusion cause by one colomn being in the truck & the other out.
