Vent Window

Rebuilding the door vent window. I had a question about the exterior color.
I noticed it is chrome on some of the rebuilds I've seen done on here. Mine is just rust. I've broken it down and sanded and neutralized the rust but now need to know what I need to do paint wise. I thinking of just painting it black. I don't have a chrome strip in the windshield trim that I have to match. Any suggestions?

Some of them came black from the factory not chrome. My 72 has black and my 71 is chrome. I would just paint it back black.

That's what I thought. it was black on the inside piece that hadn't been rusted due to being covered up with rubber. I didn't think it would be chrome on one side and black on the other. Just wanted to check. Thanks

IIRC, the CST trucks had the chrome trim and regular trucks had black (like mine).
