Very cool article about a 69 Baja truck

Baja Boot 2008 Las Vegas Mint 400

Here are some photos i took when we ran the Baja Boot at the Mint 400 last May, We were able to take the Boot on the pre run the day before the race, The race was a 400 mile race and it was a 4 lap race 100 miles each lap, They let us run it 1 lap 100 miles, It was a major blast

Thank you Ron for sharing the pics with us. Seeing the Boot brings back many, many memories. I'm amazed of its condition today. It looks like Vic built it yesterday. You truly are a lucky man!

Great additional pics! Do understand, we will enjoy seeing as many pics as you have time to post - they are all very cool to see!!!

Thanks for posting so many pics! I love seeing history in action.

Thank you for preserving so many cool old cars and sharing them with us.

Awesome pics! I really like that orange and black 73! Thanks for sharing!

The redish 1st gen with the black hood treatment is incredibly sweet! The hood color really works!

hahahah
I love the first gen hanging from the tree :haha::eek1::bow::haha::D
Awesome!

Sounds like your life is one that I dream about...I have only been in the offroad seen for about 15yrs and at the same time rasing a family so my dreams of being off-road every weekend are only dreams...I hope that as I get into my "old fart" years my off roading time on the trail will tripple. I have my wife groomed for the RV seen so now all I need is time & money :eek1::D:doah:

Anyway Thanks for sharing your memories and photos with us

I was so hoping that you had 2 pics, the blazer hanging from the tree and a pic of the ORIGINAL low profile hickey hood. God I'd love to have that style of hood for my 85

Thanks, I have over 600 original Vic Hickey photos, Many Blazer photos, I will try to post a lot, I enjoy showing photos that have not been seen in over 30 years
Ron, ever think about getting a website started for all those pics? This would be a fantastic way to bring back the memories of Vic's dream and reality.
Lord knows I would definitely have this site on my favorites pages.

I have thought about getting a web site up so people can see all the photos i have and all the race truck i have, I would like to have a section showing the current progress on each truck, and i would even like a live cam showing whats going on in the shop like right now iam getting ready to install the new race moror and tranny in the 1969 #40 race truck and the 1969 Blazer thats a clone to the 1969 SN# 00001 Blazer, I needed to build this truck so i can run it hard off road, The real trucks to rare to hurt, And iam building a 1972 K5 Thats a fram off project, It has a blasted and powdercoated frame and a soda blasted body painted hugger orange and it has a 496" Big Block This will be my new every day driver
