Very Noob question, Windstar Fan mod? Why?

I don't think it's a HP gain. More like less HP lost.

I switched over to electric fans (a Volvo one of course) and had a noticable difference in 'seat of the pants' acceleration. Hot or cold, fans on or off. Though, I didn't change it looking for more power. I had 2 reasons....

1. While wheeling the mech fan would rip into the shroud, no shroud anymore.
2. Faster warm up in the winter time, also resulted in better heat.

Yes, the alternator has less of a parasitic horsepower loss than the mechanical fan.
