Kenny, here's a pic per our PM...

This cover is one of 3 I have currently. The actual cover in this situation was painted white.

I've lost my fair share of stuff in trades/sales through the internet and I must say it does bring the suck. Hope you get this all worked out. I understand you don't want to take it to Pirate but I'd say take it to race-dezert... those guys are pretty cool and since he's active on there maybe you could get some answers.

Getting screwed on the interweb is bad, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you more Wes.

Lemme share my 'bitter' moment. You may recall a CK5'er that got my 81 Jimmy about 15 months ago. Started out he wanted my springs, when he heard I was gonna finish stripping it down and crush the leftovers he told me how he'd love to have it to build for his son etc etc...but didn't currently have any cash to offer.

I figured he is on CK5, local to me, i know him on a local BB as well and he's active in the local wheelin community. I offer him a deal too good to be true. My Jimmy tub, on a frame, with 12 point cage, Alcan springs, full vert topper, the 39.5" TSLS with about 30% left on em, plus more to come later. Return for me? Chev parts, some cash, new windshield for the 6 pack when the time came (he ran a glass shop)

So far what i recieved is a cheap set of off road lights I'm likely never to use...worth maybe $50. I've emailed, pm'd, phoned etc etc...and have come to the conculsion I'm never gonna see a dime.

The only upside is I still have the title, reg, paperwork for my Jimmy. The counterpoint to that is I don't put it beyond him to swap a new VIN one day and register/insure it anyways.

So, basically i gave my K5 away. His user name is HEAVYMETAL...but it's unlikely he'll ever return here, funinbc.com either.

I'm not too convinced that anything short of some kind of legal action would get much result (I'm not into taking physical action over a $400 loss) I always got some excuse followed by the conversation being steered into the Hickey vehicles or the Mexican 1000. I tried not to keep conversations civil as he was always agreeable and stated he would get me a tracking # asap. I didn't want to get him to stop taking my calls. On another note, does anyone know anything abouth the Mexican 1000. This event was suposed to hapen in Sept. delayed due to hurricane. Is this legit? Ron was supposedly a key guy tracking down all the big sponsors(one of his excuses for not having much time) The whole Parnelli Jones interview on their site is just some old footage they are using. The whole thing in conjunction with our other problems just seems a little fishy. When I was snooping around I got some names and contact info for other people responsible for the Mexican 1000. Maybe contacting them and letting them know that this guy claiming to be affiliated with them and is scamming people might get a little additional attention.

It's a dead issue Avery. I'm over it, and I still have all the really spendy parts in my posession. The cage had some value...to me. Trying to sell it was futile. Tires had a few months left on em, rims were nothing special. The Alcan springs...OK I paid $600 US for those and drove maybe 500 miles with them. Body and frame...meh.

What bugs me is all I wanted in return was some square body Chev parts...

i havent checked this thread for a while and all i can think is what the fuk? im more than willing to go bash him on any other threads he post on. dont really care if it was 5 dollars that got ripped off from you. and i really dont care about gettin banned from any other sites cauz i dont have any use for them anyway. and even if he turns out to be legit dont delete ur posts he still sounds like a piece of sh!t to me. is he really in tacoma? is that where u sent your cover and money?

I think I would visit some of the other forums and post your experiences. I'm sure there are more good-will people like yourselves, who too could fall victim to this guy. Who knows how many others may have had a sour experience as well with him, and have remained silent, or haven't tracked him on other forums.

Heck, I had a bad experience with a local fellow who took some parts, and never made good. Years later, at a swap meet 500 miles away, other people were asking if I knew this guy (because they heard where I lived). It happened that through the internet he had bilked quite a few others from all over Canada and the US.

That guy is a real fuker I'm happy u posted I havnt found any other posts from him but still lookin

K30guy - that was a good post you left. Maybe he'll try and sort this out fast so you don't have to publicize the details of what all went on with the diff cover fiasco.
