VIN locations on 1991 K5?

Can anyone point me to a guide that shows all the VIN locations on a 1991 K5?

This truck I am buying in CA is turning out to be an oddity. The seller has registration in his name, but NOT a title. I don't know of any way you can register a truck in your name without titling it first. The title is in the name of the person HE bought it from.

Am I paranoid?

I'd pass on the deal Unless the seller can get the original title from that previous owner and transferred to you.

Having dealing with this crap through an Arizona seller of a vehicle, it's a big pain, i can only imagine California has GOT to be worse.

Sounds like a buyer/seller. One of the guys I work with buys & sells lots of cars and sometimes they move so fast he hasn't transfered the title yet. In these cases though, he does physically have the title and it's signed, just not transfered.

Afaik, the VIN is in 3 places - windshield, left door and on top of the frame rail directly under the pass front floorboard.

Okay, I figured it out. I called CA DMV. Apparently they will register it in his name to allow him to go get a smog check. Well, since he's had it, it has failed 3 smog checks. I talked to him on the phone and he didn't bother mentioning that at all - ever. So he thinks I am a sucker.

I may have to do some price negotiations here since I don't know what is really wrong with the truck. I know he put headers on it, which is probably the issue, or maybe he removed the cats. I can deal with both of those issues. If it's bad injectors or associated smog bits I'm cool with that. But he sure needs to tell me.

I drive down there to look at one, but it was beat. No rust though!

If you know of a super clean, white on tan/grey for $6k or less ... and it's available right now ... let me know before I ship this one from CA! Go check the WTB area, my list is there! And I'll even throw some cash your way!

Southern CA. A few of the brothers here already checked it for me, so I know the truck is fine otherwise.
