Gentlemen,
I have a 1972 K5 blazer. Attached are pictures of the VIN Numbers found in the common locations. It looks to me that the VIN on the frame underneath at the door is 2F607846. but the 607 has been "x'd" out. The number on top of the frame is tough to read, but I can definitely see 846 and think i see the same 607. The driver door and glove box definitely say 2F170846.
The "X's" on the underneath certainly look like a factory stamping. Has anyone seen this before? What do you think? Was the number altered at the factory? do I have a numbers matching truck?
Other than the numbers on the engine block deck, is there anything i can do to verify originality? It appears to me that the TDR designation is at least period correct.
Thanks in advance,
Capt D
