Wanna build it to roll across the southeast!

Also looking for ideas on the smaller mods:

-dual batteries
-corvette servo
-tranny cooler
-steering box brace

Lord knows what will happend to the thing when I get home. Going to go scout the junkyards for a Dana 60 & a 14 bolt. Whats everyones opinions on running a dually front & rearend (single rear wheel). I have done all the searches on here and seen all the debates on the widths & such. Never did find any good opinions of how people enjoyed them.

Thanks for everyones input.

Bigjbear, whats done to it while in that pic?

Stock 350/TH350/NP205
10B/12B with 4.56:1, open front & Detroit rear
4" Skyjacker Softride springs front and rear + 1" block in the rear to level it out (I would have been better just doing a flip in the rear- live and learn)
35x12.50 BFG M/Ts on stock 15x8 rallies
Rhinolined from the firewall to the tail gate, a CUCV brush guard, trimmed fenders, bolt on steering box brace, and sway bar disconnects

Picture is at the top of Bell Mt in N. GA.

Bigjbear , How much did you trim off the fenders? After my 33`s wear out I`m thinking of going to 35`s.

In that picture, not enough. I just trimmed a little when I first got the tires, but after I un hooked the swaybar I found I needed to go further. I beet the inner fender back as far as it would go and trimmed to match. If you move the axle forward you can trim less.

Does it really droop that much with the sway bar unhooked? How does it ride in the city? I never get over 45 for more than a mile or 2.

Not really a hi-jack , the O.P. needs this info too ;)

It makes a huge difference w/ positively arched leaf springs.

Personally, I don't think totally removing the sway bar is that big of a deal, but some guys really like them. The disconnects are a great solution, but the stock set up is unusable if you go to x-over.

I have never noticed , but could you just unbolt each end and tie them up , then drive around for a while to test out if you like it or not ?

Absolutely, that's all the disconnects do. Depending on the condition of your bushings it might take a while to line things back up, but FREE is good.

Well the trip to the local U-Pull-It was unsuccessful today. The two dually's were gone, but I did notice a 3/4 ton burb & a 8 lug van that'll be out in the yard within a few weeks.

I'll have my transfer case back within a few days. Then I've got to install it and find out why my speedo isn't working. Then add a tranny cooler, fill the A/C back up, and roll out! It'll take me about one trip to the gas station to not like it anymore and jump back in my mx-6(32+mpg). My hope is to get all of this done this weekend. Realistically will be getting it done before Tuesday. Then next payday I'll get a 3.73 gear for the rear and have it installed. I'll at least be able to go do some light off-roading and use 4wd. Anyhow, I've gotta go take some pics of the lil bastard.

Thats just a few pics of the truck in its current status. I'm still waiting to get my transfer case back from the shop. The work is getting done for free so no complaints.

Wow! Talk about bringing a thread back from life after about two months. I've got it back on the road and running well.
I've put some 02' Silverado seats in the truck which will make it very nice to cruise back and forth to Galliano, La.
Going Thursday to pick up a 8 lug 10 bolt & 14bsf both 4.10 gear and complete with brakes. Then I'll be on the search for some 8 lug 15" rims which shouldn't be to hard. I'm sure I can get some decent ones from summit for less than $300.
Is there anything special I have to do to get the above axles in my truck? Like swap driveshafts or something? Are all of the mounts in the same place? Just wanna make sure there isn't something I don't know about. I have no problem fabing something up if I have to but don't wanna be in the middle of the swap and go, AH S#!T.
After I get the axles & wheels set under the truck its back to the 4" lift. I've already got a set of front 4" lift leafs, will get a 4" steering arm with the axles, gotta go get a front 2wd hanger & bolts to do a rear hanger/shackle swap. The biggest purchase I'll have to make for the lift will be shocks. I've been watching superlifts ebay site for scratch & dents but haven't found any. If I have to buy new I hope to do the f250 shock towers with extended shocks. Are there any cheap shocks that go with that swap? I'm going to get the lift installed and then worry about new tires down the road. The 32's have plenty of tread left fr me to decide whether I want to go 33's or 35's. Considering the truck is my daily driver and it goes on 500+ mile road trips at minimal of once a month I am leaning to 33's. But my heart and soul wants 35's. Anyhow, here are some of the newest pics I have of the truck.

Glad to see the thread revived. I subscribed a while back because mine will be a DD once it's back to good. It'll be mildly lifted, with 33's or 35's as well, and my plan is to do some serious road-trippin' in it. I wanna take it from Atlanta to Arizona and visit some ghost towns and the Grand Canyon and all that :-)

I'm still clueless as to where my road trip will be. Thats something I'll do a lot of praying about and we'll go from there.

I need to get motivated and get mine ready to go ASAP. Phase I is getting it back to DD status. Phase II is the mild lift, 1-tons, etc...maybe a different motor. I have an idea for a motor that I'd like to build on the side. Then take it in for a couple of dyno sessions, and if it works out like I plan, then drop it into the truck. Should give me a little more low-end torque and hopefully decent MPG too.

Latest picture as of yesterday.

The truck hasn't changed much due to me moving and trying to build my savings account back up. I now reside in downtown pensacola and so far am loving it. I got the windows tinted and an alarm on the truck just for peace of mind. Then i got some aluminum wheels to polish up and get installed shortly. I've got more parts to sell than i do to install due to changing my path with the truck. Oh and i puked the 700r4 and switched to a th350 and am having great success with it. I'm hoping to do river rock with a local group that rented the place out in march.

Oh and I purchased one of my favorite things ever and will definately help me along with the K5. A digital camera and a 4g sd card. I got it two days ago and have went camera happy.

I've still got my 4" lift springs, steering arm, and now acquired lift shocks, along with 6" f & r leaf springs. Its all sitting in my storage shed and I think if I do any lifting its just going to be a 2" and go with 33's. For what I use the truck for its very hard to modify in fear that I won't like it or wish i would of went another route... If I was to ask God what lift will I be happy with? His reply will be, "Son, you'll never be happy."

oh and the camera is a $99 or $98 samsung from target. 7.3 mega pixel, 3x zoom, and a 2.5?" lcd screen. Its great to lug around rather than something a lot more expensive and physically bigger.

So, what's the latest? Did you make the trip?
Inquiring minds want to know... :-)
