One like this?

They're pretty flimsy and don't have great clearance but they're generally pretty inexpensive.

that might be the one, the pics a lil dark tho...........thanks...........is it strong tho for the winch...? i wana put a new winch on my truck

I have the same one. I dont have any pre modification pics on this computer of it though. The center where the winch mounts and what holds it to the truck frame is plenty strong. The outer edges that extend from the center are very thin and weak. This is what I did with mine. Like I said... No complaints about the center winch mount portion of the bumper.

This is the only other picture of the bumper I have in my photobucket account and its kinda dark too

The winch plate part of it is very stout and I still have that part on my truck. 25 years of abuse and hard pulls with no complaints :pimp:

so then you guys think that 30.00 is a good price..?... is pretty straight and nice just the chrome is peeling...

30bux is good price. cant hardly even get the steel for that price. Not sure your commitment level on budget, etc. But do yourself a favor and get it sand/bead blasterd and then get some ARMOR paint from Home depot. Itll last longer than the truck itself. If you try to wire wheel that chrome off, youll be there all day long.

Here you go. Like DR said, the center is plenty strong, but the outers (outside the frame rails) are pretty flimsy. I never had a problem winching from it!

Getting it bead blasted will work then...?...We have a huge cabinet it will fit in at work......(also whats the armor paint you were speaking of...? ) I was thinking of blasting it and coating it in por 15.....or spraying it in bed liner....I wanted also to put in it a 10,000 lb smittybuilt winch to fill in the gap, i dont need or use one enuf to go expensive on the winch......ill get the bumper this week and evaluate it and see what i can do...

Yeah you could bed line it or POR15. I use Rust oleum HAMMERED paint. It is what I used on my Roll bar. It is suppose to be pretty durable and it was cheap , under 5bux for a quart. and a quart goes a LONG way. I just foam brushed it on. It dries fairly quick. If and when I sell my present bumper and get my new one, I may paint it with this paint.

These are a couple of pics of mine after I installed it. Still need to fill the gap in the winch plate, but it works well.

This is the Warn Classic. I got rid of some material to bring the bumper approximately 4" in towards the truck. It just stuck out way too far for my taste! I was also able to retain the use of the factory bumper diagonal supports to give the flimsy outer pieces SOME additional strength.

I ran one for several years on 2 K5's and I used part of it for my new bumper. The stock outer parts suck but the winch mount is plenty strong. For $30 I would buy it.

Had one on my 90 Bronco for years. They are not bad but the metal is not that thick. I say just spray paint it rather than powder coat or POR-15. I love POR-15 but keeping a can around for fixing boo boo's is pricey. I sprayed my front 4x4 Iron bumper with the Rust-oleum Textured. When I get a scrape, I just spray over it again.

im going to paint it with the hammerhead finish black from home depot.. then put it on and put the warn 12000lb winch i just got...we reinforced the brackets and the center section with 3/8 thich steel and 1/4 on the sides to give it more strength...

Will it stick to the chrome? You might want to strip the chrome first or the paint could peel off. I have also used self-etching primer before on raw metal and maybe that would work too.
