im going to scuff it all up and prep it with stuff i got from the body shop to make sure it sticks.......we did it with chrome b4 and it worked..stripping the chrome would take forever..

I guess having it underneath also gives it a bit more sealing I suppose. The hammered finish will look good, post up some pics when you get it done.
illl prob get it done by the end of the week, i need to figure what to put on the front for hooks, my stock blazer tow hooks dont fit anymore..
Why not? My stock hooks still fit on my '90 Suburban with my Warn bumper.
my truck has a 3inch body lift, the bumper was moved up with 3/8 plate steel ( came with no brackets). i made templetes out of cardboard and then plasma cut the brackets out and added some reinforcement to it , i used the top holes on each side to mount the bumper and the bolt hole at the top that the hook bolts to is blocked with the nut. so ill have to see what else to do... also i think the hooks will stick down real far, i might mount them a different way....not sure tho....if it wasnt for the body lift they would fit right on..the bumper would look bad mounted that far down in the stock location..
Well, I took the bumper off when I sold the 'burb and put it on my '91 F250. It had no tow hooks so I bought some with the spring clips at TSC and mounted them under the winch plate. I'll post some pics. tomorrow.

Don't put your tow hooks on that Warn bumper, it isn't that strong. If you attach them to the center of the bumper, you will rip that thing in half if you try and pull your rig out by the tow hooks.
im going to mount em to the plate steel that i connected to reinforce the bumper.. so they will be on the side under the winchplate.
2nd that,just ask odoa3 what happened to hid front bumper when i tried to pull him out.
my hooks will be frame mounted with reinforcements
I didn't mount to the center, I mounted to where the bumper bolts to the brackets and it has held just fine. I wouldn't mount anywhere else on there though. By the way, my truck is a diesel super cab 4x4, very heavy.

As long as you are on the frame, on the bumper but where it connects to the frame, or a crossmember that is beefier than the bumper, you should be fine. The Warn bumper really isn't any stronger than a stock bumper as the metal isn't that thick.
ill prob buy the same hooks and mount em to the brackets i made out of 3/8 plate

a lil glare in a few pics.........i used rustoleum hammerhead finish , a few coats. also used my stock blazer tow hooks, i hope they will work how i have em positioned.
