I found a tiny pin hole leak in the steal tubing section of the water heater hose that connects to the engine.

I have this motor setup to be on a Dyno this Thursday. So I need to find a replacement hose really quick. What I am finding is universal hoses but I don't know if the hose has the correct fitting to screw onto the engine.

Anyone know what size fitting that is and if there is anything special about it.
If you know what it is and can find a replacement on autozone website please post a link.

This is an 87 blazer 350.

I usually ditch those steel lines, since they will fail, and just use a 1/2 NPT nipple in the manifold. Then you can just use standard heater hose and eliminate the steel portion. Napa and many other parts stores should have the steel to hose lines, but they aren't cheap.

I'm not seeing the hoses listed at AZ or Napa, which is odd.

This is exactly what I would do too. Makes swapping hoses out down the line cheaper and easier.

Where can you get the nipples? Most parts store guys around here wouldn't know a spark plug from a coil. The only way they can find something is if you give them the year and model of car so they can look it up on their computer.

Last time I needed one it was in the chrome accessories section of Autozone made by Mr. Gasket.

I got mine at Knechts. I dont know where in oregon you are but i bet Baxters carrys them also. I did that on my old TBI motor. Well worth it especially for an emergency. I found them in the silly "performance" section next to all the ghey faux braided line stuff and all the chrome gizmoze.

Lowes or Home Depot will have brass fittings in the plumbing department that will work.

^That is where I get it, although it isn't always a perfect fit for the hose itself, it works very well. I believe looking at the picture, that it is a 1/2" NPT thread fitting that you are going to need, if the Oreilly's doesn't have it.

Any plumber's supply store or if you have a buddy that's a plumber with a truck full of parts, might be time to owe him a 6 pack.
