Websites for diagnostics?

They say 9 to 14 but my experiance says 13 PSI to run correct.

Is there a pressure test port on this thing?? I'm look'n, but not finding! I have a standard fuel pressure test gauge that should thread onto a port, but I don't see a port... Please don't tell me that GM in their infinite wisdom didn't put a $1 port on to test fuel pressure!!!:dunno:

Oh, and I fired it up with the o2 sensor unplugged and it does the same thing, so it isn't a o2 sensor issue.... and I replaced the temp sensor with a new one, and it still did the same thing... so the saga continues.

I beleive the tool used for TBI fuel presure check is at the fuel filter. I made one to install in line at the TBI unit...

Under the truck? ...well, I guess most test ports should have a cap on them. Thanks for the info! I'll check it and see if I'm getting fluctuations in the pressure.
Thanks!
Chad

...you wouldn't have a pic of what you rigged up would you?? :)

hehe... ok, I'm sneaking up on something. I was looking at some of the schematics online and found that this thing has a "Idle Air Control Actuator", basically a stepper motor, so I unplug the thing thinking that maybe it's cycling open and closed for some odd reason.. it idles fine now. Oh and the O2 sensor is still unplugged, but it hasn't warmed up yet either so that sensor isn't in play. Anyone know what might make the IAC cycle open/closed??
Thanks!!!
:bow::bow:

Well, I'm messing with it and plug it back in and it works fine... geez, can't anything be easy?? I'm gonna go by a new one and that way I'll have one with me if it starts acting weird again. At this rate I'll have a extra one of every sensor for the truck to carry around!

For the money you are spending at guessing you could become a member here and get into the Injection Section. There's one sticky at top for trouble codes and I just put up links to GM diagnostics courtesy of Dorian.

Have you cleared the codes yet and driven it to see if anything else pops up?

The Injection Section?? ..ok, someone educate me here, what is that? I have no problem supporting the forums, but I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Ok, I found it... you're right, I can see it, but I can't post in it. I'll pony up and become a supporting memeber, $25 is well worth the price of admission!
Thanks guys!

Edit... Ok, done I'm one of them full member types now! I'll start a thread in the Injection Section.

Yeah Welcome. I don't know who makes all the money but I have received it back 100 fold with help and advice. Not to mention meeting friends with same obsessions... :D

Just as an FYI, the IAC seems to be a VERY robust unit. I can't recall anyone on here actually having one go bad. I'm sure there are instances, but they are not an item I'd consider replacing "just because".

Well, to late... I already installed it this afternoon. :doah: Kept the old one to have as a spare. I will probably never need it now, but it did seem to cure my idle problem. Time will tell. I'm going to start a thread over in "The Injection Section" and link it to this thread. Unless someone knows how to move this one...
