All I can say is wow. It tipped the scales at 6500 lbs with less than half a tank of fuel. I would have put it at no more than 6000.

Here's a pic minus the tailgate and different bumpers too. I am having a truck gate painted - so nothing back there at the moment.

My 2500HD tow rig only weighed in at 6200 lbs.

holy crap. that makes me want to weigh the burb and see what she comes in at....wow

IVe been scared to weigh mine. The only real weight added is the front and rear bumpers, but they arent lite.

Wow, thats is alot but in the normal range. Are those steel wheels?? they look aluminum but Im not sure.

That's not much. My K5 - hardtop, 6pt cage, D60 rear, 10b front, 208, front ORD bumper, 2nd battery, CO2, loaded for trail w/ spares, tools and water - came in at 6200. And that was before the rear tube bumper, and the winch.

Lets see, My full convertable with the rockers removed should be a bit less weight. I have more sheet metal romoved then your rig, But my cage is all 2" DOM with just a little bit of 1 3/4 DOM thrown in, and it look like I have more tube in my cage then yours so there's some weight added back in.

Im running Aluminum wheels. Might be going with the drop center Fiber Glass hood for better front viewing while climbing. Just trying to figure out if I'll be in the same ball park. :D Im running 38's, you have a small block as do I. Im going to bo running a TH400 with a STAK case someday. Damnit, no matter how you slice it Im in the same ball park. Time to get the hole saws and dimple dies out and start drilling!

CRAP! I never weighed mine, but i ve got tobe close. Loaded for the trail, doubler,d60/14blt,th400,m15000,rear tube bumper/carrier. What do you guys figure a real roll cage adds. Currently the ghetto fab roll bar is all i got. COme on stimulas check

Wow , and you even have a softtop . Thats the axle difference there .

I came in at 6600 with trailler full of yard waste in tow behind me at the dump , with my top , spares , and winch on , in the tan K5 .

Tubing varies based on composition and size, but most steel tube you would use for a cage is around 2 lbs. per foot.

Mine was 4700 stock with the winch and no top. No trail tools or passengers included in that #.

It was 5200 after adding one tons, everything else was the same (maybe a few more pounds in wheels and tires).

Its just a hair over 4K now and I keep taking more metal off :D

all of you that weigh over 6K, do you still have full interiors?

I weighed mine a while back with a full tank of fuel, the hard top on, and had the portable winch in the hitch. I'm wanting to say 6400lbs. But now that I'm trying to think of what it was, 6200 and 6700 keep wanting to pop in my mind. :doah:

They are steel. I had non-beadlock aluminum at one point but I chewed them up on the rocks.

Mine are OMF beadlocked so I will be good. Its crazy what a full size weighs.

Ya'll got some fat bastads!

Actually, I was afraid to even open this thread.:doah: LOL!

This might motivate me to pull carpet etc.

Parts breaking weight!! :eek1::doah::D

Yeah, especially with the 42s. Luckily I haven't busted much yet. Just stripped the bolts out of the back of the tranny due to my excessive right foot and a large tree laying across a trail. :doah: That was fixed with more tranny to transfercase brackets and a new transmission tunnel for more clearence.

The extra leverage is the main reason for limiting the tire size.

That weight is not surprising at all. Years ago I weighed my '90 (6.2/700r4) Silverado model that had all of the stock parts (interior, A/C, top, etc...) and only had a 14FF rear, front 10-bolt converted to 8-lug, 35" radials on 15x10 steelies, and a medium box of tools and parts and it weighed in at 6,000+. We have scales at work I can use anytime, but have been afraid to weight it now it with 1-tons, 40" Swampers, custom bumpers, winch, 3x3 rockers, full cage, and more spare parts and tools.
