welding helmets

i have a lincon flip right now and i hate it..the lens is to small and dark..i got a 10 shade in it and i cant see anything...i looked at the atos at hf tools but they only go down to 9..i welded with a 6 or 7 one time and it was great...also used a cheater flip one time and that was great as well..any help here??

I take it you didn't have your heat up to much. Although it's just personal preference. A guy at work has a 13. Ya can't see a damn thing out of it, and another guy has a 10 but he will use other people old protective lenses ,turning it into about a 18. Just all depends.

My gold lens is a 10 and i can see just fine. I like it better than the traditional black lens, because the traditional ones have a green shade to the Arc but the gold lens is more orangeish comes in clearer for me.
