Some good youtube of someone I'd say is really good...TIG welding some Model A doors he is stretching. He goes over a lot of the issues as well as the fixes. You could watch it all, or skip to 26:30 or so.

I do know what I am going to do for paint and I know a lot may not like it but it is my Blazer.
just add blue paint to it and go for it. takes 12 deals to cover but I think I can make it work.
plus I can spray it in the yard no paint booth needed.

Raptor is basically just thick paint. It’s super brittle once it cures, so it usually cranks and pops with any strain - like when a hood might flex, a tire rubs a fender, or a rock gets friendly with a quarter.

Same gun and applicator process will work for Seymour 2K protective, which stays flexible after curing. I have it all over my suburban.

I don’t recommend either for general coverage on a truck. Rockers and high wear spots, sure.

An inexpensive paint job from Maaco with even half decent prep will work really well, and doesn’t cost a bunch.

Any single stage regular paint, will look good and be just as easy to apply.
You have to do the same masking... So why not.?
Implement paint with hardener would still be better and better looking..
About $50-60 at any farm store.

It took me 1.5 gallons to paint a suburban 3 coats.
Gauge what you need from that.

na wont ruin it ,I have a grinder and a wire wheel if I don like it I will grind it off and do something different

Welding is coming along, I have to finish grinding the rear lower on both sides then Ill move to the front fender on passenger side.

I took the doors off of my burb to do the rocker.
That hoist looks like it'd work good. I just wrapped a short sling around the center of my window frame and did mine with the cherry picker.
Little hard to get it balanced right and the pins back in for rehang, but it wasn't bad.
