Welding sheet metal (need help)

Here is the passenger side cowl.
Its hard to see the pitting in the weld. and those are stitch welds ground down.

Yeah never thought I would go this far bra!

The polarity is correct, picked up some .023 wire cleaned everything really good, and wouldn't you know it- it looks great now!

Thanks to everybody who responded, it all helped a lot!
May just have to start a build thread soon. :weld:
 
If the windshield is good and plan on using it cover it up good and any other glass that's around.Grinding and welding will ruin glass if it lands on it.Nice project!
 
I run 30 psi on my miller DVI2 all the time. 22 gauge is like trying to weld toilet paper. Thinner wire will help. I would pulse weld it rather than trying to lay a continuous bead. Mess with your wire speed a bit. Like I said though 22 is gonna be tough no matter what ya do.
