Well...i blew something up. Ring gear death...PICS!

I filled the ring gear for about 1inch with blue grease and the contact patch looked good to me. It meshed from about the middle of the gears all the way across.



Yeah, I'm real anal-retentive when it comes to diff. gear setting, tranny and engine building.
 
Im beginnin to be...haha this was my first one. it lasted about 6months. haha

Wehn i build my motor that will be as close to perfect as i can possibly be.

I called my dad once i looked at it to tell him what i broke. Quickly followed by the standard smartass "you aint done that!" HIs response..."nope sure didnt, but i did exlpode a detroit locker":doah: Forgot about that story.
 
WElp its been dropped off...guy said maybe tomrrow afternoon i can pick it up!:D Spent 140 on gears, (from discont with employee discount, appartently have the same warranty as genuine gear) and he said about $200 for hte install, plus whatever parts he has to use. IM happy, and i think i got pretty good. money wise.
