Well, I decided to stay with 33s...

he stated he wont be goin over 35s b/c its his DD. a full floater is a lil overkill and aint worth the hassell of shaving when a 14 sf is avalible and will hold 35s w/ no problem. also the 14 sf he finds will more than likely be in better shape than the ff b/c it will be out of a newer model truck so possibility of less maintance parts. swap the spring perches throw in a lockright and it could be perfectly fine. but it all depends on him if he wants to go bomb proof or bullet proof

Overkill or not, if you could be "bomb proof" for the same amount (or even less) money, which would you rather have? Besides, what if he changes his mind down the road and wants to go bigger or start 'wheeling it hard? Seems to be a no-brainer to me...

Well, a buddy found 2 14bsff out of an 82-87 chevy p/u, so they`ll bolt right in, for $100 if we pull them. I still dont know the ratio they have, but if they are 4.10s, I was just going to grab it, put it in, get an 8 lug 10b with 4.10s, and stay with 33s. Now, if I can find a good deal on a D60/14BFF, with 4.56s already, then I would definitely go with 35s or 36s. It all depends on whats available, and the size of my wallet at the time.

The main reason I wanted to go 1ton with 35s, is just as you`ve stated. IT`S BOMB PROOF! And if you`re a newb to wheeling, that definitely calms the feeling in the pit of your stomach thats telling you as soon as you get out of this whole, I`m gonna be swapping axles......
