Alright im in the process (as most of you have seen)to start bringing my jimmy back to life....

This truck was the first 4wd truck i ever bought...it started out life as a jimmy w/ a 400 cid and a 350/205 with a 12 bolt/10 bolt...

the truck has never hit the street since i have owned it...i used to race it in the local mud boggs until that got to expensive..

It has sat for almost 2 years after having everything taken off and sold (motor, axles, trans, tranfer case, grille i mean everything)....

now im bring it back to life as a trail truck only....here are my plans
AXLES-
14bff,513 locker,disced (already have)
dana 44 8 lug (i know) 513,locked,crossover

SUSPENTION-
rear-shackle flip,diy4x bird shackles (done)
front-52's moved as far foward as possible w/the rear shackle mount moved as well, home made zero rates and mabye re-drilled perches...

TIRES-
38x15.5x15 boggers on 15x10s

TRANS/TRANSFER CASE-
400/208,b&m shift kit..

MOTOR-
prolly a junkyard 350 w/either a tbi system on it or a propane system...

other mods will come as it goes but thats the plan...so on with the pics!!

dont worry its a done deal now....there was a few reasons for this choice primilary the burb was to big and in to good a shape for me to beat on like i want to....also i need a tow rig and couldnt afford what i really wanted so i have a decent tow rig sitting right there (the burb)that im gonna use...dont worry this truck will be done by attum thump...now if i have enough money to go that will be a diffrent story...

arent you the one who always tells me to take my time...the fun is building them???

Yes I did. And I should add "Build it once"
This was your original plan, you should of stayed with it. Think of the money and time you would of saved.:doah:

i dont want to really i just want to get this one done and in the books....i made some bad judgment earlier but now its time to get past that and get this one started...

well i got some stuff done today....mostly some planing....i got the old 10 bolt and springs out and the stock hangers out....i havnt removed the rear mount yet cause im gonna get the front done first....im gonna start on the crossmember tomm and hopefully get it in....i also looked at what all is involved in putting in my weld in brace...oh and i got 2 sets of springs (52s and stock front springs)and a stocker steering arm all for 10 bucks...all in all a good day...anyway on to the pics

thanks man I'm probably gonna make a cross member Tommorow similar to mrk5's...i like his design and looks like it wont be that bad to make...

what do you need the cross member for? why not just move the hanger and keep moving? serious question in case you thought I was giving you a hard time.

well i bent the $hit out of the body mount....i was gonna make a crossmember and replace the whole thing but i can get my hands on another set of the l-brackets so i might just run 2 and the lower mount....i dont need the body mount cause it will never see a set of fenders or grille again...:D

K.I.S.S. fenders and a rad support make it easy. if you bent it with a hammer you can bend it back. but if you are not going to use the rad mount I could use one.:wink1:

im not sure if im gonna use the radiator support or not...its all up to the guy making the cage....im gonna design somthing similar to kidjethro's truggy but the front will be all tube and tie into the cage in the inside of the truck...

not to much progress today just got one of the 52s installed for the most part...the shackle angle aint the best but there is no weight on it too...i still have to put a longer set of shackles on it...anyway onto pics...oh and i did paint the springs and put more bolts in the hangers after i took the pics...

cant work on it tomm cause i have to work late but i plan to have the thing back on it tires by saterday...i hope..

good. my angle was worse then that with ORD shackles and the engine and front end. this is what I wheeled at Rausch.

keep in mind that your springs are at full droop right now minus the weight of the axle pulling down on it.
